Morning all, just
Late in this week but we've had some much needed extra sleep. Yesterday I spent most of the day trying to put my hair colour back to normal. I tried to dye it dark brown and it gone black with patches. It stank and it had turned back to blonde when I had finished, now its going darker again. So I'll be loosing another day to it on Friday (too busy before then and it stinks too much to do it of a night)I will get back a more natural colour eventually.
Apart from that I tided up, took birthday decorations down, and generally pottered throughout the house. It looked great by the time I went to bedWe planned to take DS1 to Liverpool for his 18th birthday in Dec. He supports a football team there so we were going to take the stadium tour etc.
He decided today to ask if he could be taken in 2 weeks time to see a match.DH agreed forgetting the birthday plansI have bought them a two for one rail card and will book rail tickets soon. I need to also find out how they get from the station to the ground (45min walk each way).
We may have to think of another birthday treat as I think 8 month is too early to say it is his present.
There is usually a Soccer bus service running on match days. There is also 2 buses that run past Goodison & Anfield but I'm not sure if they may divert them on match days or not. All depends on which station they'll be getting into but with the love of soccer in this city it'll be easy to jump a bus therePM if you need any thing and I'll be happy to help
Also the stadium tour and going to see the match are two very different experiences. I'm sure he'd enjoy both!

This seems to be getting to be a more regular occurrence.Hope she gets it sorted out soon. I had all 7 roads that are mine taken off me as we got a new 'boss' and she didn't know that I had those roads (glitch in the system apparently), I soon put her straight!
Today DD and I are off to the bank to open her up her first current account (she already has a building society one, but there's only 1 branch and thats in the town centre). It may not be the best out there, but she'll be the 4th generation of our family with the bank, and the branch itself is by her school and she'll have internet banking etc When she's older she can start shopping around for herself to get the best deal, this is just for convenience and so she can 'save' her pocket money up (cash burns a hole in her pocket). She's going to pay in some of her birthday money, and then we're going to walk home via the charity shops with some of her other money so she can pick up some second hand books to use as her reading book for school
We also need to go a bit of grocery shopping at Mr A and Mr Al. Then I think this I'll tackle the ironing & washing while DD packs for going away on Thursday. I know there's going to be washing & ironing needed for that.Well I've just noticed the time so I best go and get a move on. Our appointment is 1pm and it'll take about 30min to get there and I'm still in my pjs!

I'm off sick from work with this cold. I feel a little better as not coughing and snotting everywhere now but I feel like I've been in a fight - hurt all over. As I'm on phased return I didn't want to push it and end up off for longer so I will try and do another day later in the week.
But I had a go anyway - my kitchen is the size of a stamp so no need to feel sorry for me!

nicki, what brand of colour remover are you using? I used Jo Bazz and it went back to dark but I have heard great things about Scott Cornwall Decolour Remover (not Decolour stripper as this contains peroxide and will lighten your hair as well as remove the dye). It's getting on for £15 in Boots but from what I understand of the science it shatters the colour molecules rather than just shrinking them so the dye is much less likely to reoxidise. Good luck with it, I persevered, then had my hair bleached to ginger so I could go the bright red you see in my avatar. Within a few months I had gone back to black
I really wanted to be red-red but it didn't suits me all that much and it was a faff, my bathroom was constantly pink every time I washed it. I got the idea out of my system if nothing else!
In the meantime, washwashwash your hair -- you really want to get rid of any lingering colour hiding under the cuticles of your hair.
Oh and just in case you didn't already know, after colour removing again you should wait at least a week and if poss, wash your hair on days 1-5 before redyeing, as any lingering colour will be reactivated and go dark again if you use a dye with peroxide before then. Washing should shift as many of them as possible but you want hair that is a couple of days "dirty" before using a box dye so your natural hair oils help protect the hair and scalp from any potential damage.
Hope that makes some sense!0 -
Afternoon flyladies :hello:
I intend to keep my promise of not letting the flat slide this week, so although I have spent this morning crawling on my hands and knees dusting someone else's skirting boards, I'm going to crack on and get going in a min.
I vacuumed yesterday afternoon and had mopped both the kitchen and bathroom y'day morning. We ate at the outlaws last night and didn't get home until it was almost bedtime for my boys. DH and I immediately retreated to our bedroom to watch Jeremy Kyleso can someone PLEASE explain to me why I need to vacuum and mop again?! The kitchen and front hall are both disgusting and someone has dripped toothpastey mess all over the bathroom floor
I also need to strip the airer, put away any bits which don't need ironed and do another WM load. Getting fed up of the Forth Road Bridge washing situation here, I'm sure many of you understand…
ETA Kettle appears to be kaputIt's dripping from the base. After the WM and vac packing in, I thought I was all out of electrical bad luck for a while. Apparently not.
