In fact I am getting a little bit fed up with my neighbour finding an excuse to drop in and sit in my kitchen for half the afternoon. Sorry, thats a bit unkind but she is off work at the moment and I am just sooo busy.
One of my best friends had a neighbour like that -- once, my friend even hid in her house and had to crawl from the lounge to the kitchen just in case the NN was looking in the window for her!
That was when I said to me friend, "what would you tell me to do if I were in your shoes?" And her reply was "tell the NN to eff off" :rotfl: but I think it made her realise that although she wanted to be nice and welcoming, it was becoming a serious imposition.
Maybe next time, you should try politely saying, "coffee would be lovely but I'm up to my eyes in it here and I need to nip out shortly. Another time?" with a big smile? The trouble with being 'nice' all the time is that often, people don't realise that they're in the way
I have a new kettle :T 'Bought' with points at Sainsbobs, plus I had a voucher for £6 in points if I spent over £60 (which I was doing anyway) so in effect the kettle cost about £20 in rewards and NO actual cash :money:0 -
Welcome Bonglecat and Tawny75.
my best advice would be try to keep on top of it once youve made a start.
after a few weeks you will start to see an improvement and it will become easier but don't be complacent it will be quicker and easier with routines.
the mantra of 'dont put it down put it away'* does work and halves the job in the long run.
little and often is better in the long run than a huge slog once in a while

I honestly don't know how I'd deal - everyone who knows me knows that I don't do unexpected callers, under any circumstances.
Mr LW has phoned, he's on his way home; pasta with cheese sauce for dins tonight; and I made choccie mousse with the 2nd half of the pot of unpasteurised cream from the farmers market - does this count for Find a recipe to use something up and make it ?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Trust me this also works well with those annoying foot crunching brightly coloured bricks called "Leg - Oh my blinking foot - who left that lying around!"
Has anybody told her yet?
Anyway - have to agree with the Lego, but househiold soda is similarly effective - especially as lego is usualy - erm - greasy.

Managed a little bit in the kitchen before taking DS. It took over 3 hours for the hospital.
My list looks like this at the moment..

Wipe all the paintwork up the stairs and on the landing
Tuesday ~ Kitchen
15 minutes...
mop the floor
30 minutes to spare...
Wipe the wall behind the oven
Wipe the kickboards or around the legs of cupboards
Got an hour...
Deal with that kitchen hotspot

Clean the washing machine drawer
