X is putting down a deposit on a new house tomorrow.

The advice I passed on from here was apparently 'pathetic'.

So believing in behaving in a decent manner is pathetic? Not agreeing with destroying other peoples property is pathetic? Disliking liars is pathetic? Thinking she is a scummy chancer is pathetic?

Ok fine, I'm pathetic then, but I'd rather be that than what she is.
There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.

And one poster's response to that is "dirty skank"!

Why would anyone want to be a LL?
  • It seems like the LL is taking direct action and apparently a Loss Adjuster from his insurance company is out in relation to the leaking tank, smashed windows, damaged paintwork and loss of rental income.

since she is no longer your friend, for the sake of good karma you might want to inform the LL about X's new house, so LL can warn X's new LL about it all.

i know i would, if im in your shoes.
It is not impossible, its just improbable

Again - all of those items are menial, at best.

No reason to give notice at all - £100 more deposit, fix x2 windows, the leaking tank is the LL's problem...

I simply dont understand the mentality of X...

  • She visited her current EA yesterday to discuss a number of issues, during this meeting she was supposed to hand over a letter to advise she would be vacating the property - she did not submit this letter.
  • Your friend doesn't have to give any written notice to leave at the end of a fixed-term AST. If she hasn't secured her onward move she would be a fool to do such a thing.

She might be a slovenly skank who lives in a world of her own but that doesn't automatically mean that she's a suicidal idiot.

I'm a bit confused here, if she says she is moving out and will provide notice to the LL/EA which I assume is something both the EA and LL would like to have in writing. What benefit is there to here saying she would give this written notice and then to not give it?
