Any idea what it is going to say? Good news, bad news or indifferent? They are either working late, or yet again promising an update and then failing to stand by what they have said.....
I doubt we will be receiving an e-mail update today - but I may be wrong!....
I was told a letter would be sent today or tomorrow. I didn't ask what the letter will say as I knew I would only be told to wait for the letter.
I was told that they could not foresee any issue if I wanted to transfer out several tens of £Ks in mid April, when my ISA will have matured. But I could not get any confirmation that the withdrawal ban has been lifted as of today - I therefore assume it has not.
I didn't ask whether and how I could deposit another fiver into my share account as I have no intention to give them another penny, let alone a fiver. I also wasn't told that I must deposit another fiver.0 -
I had always factored in that as the ISA matured on the 5th of the next calendar month that there would be two lots of membership fees plus the minimum CU share account. (Total cost £37= £30 + £12 + £5)
The sceptic in me says interest wont be paid to members who don't hold the minimum balance in the share account and thats why it has been increased.
Guess just have to wait for this email/letter0 -
I spotted the new web-site "design" this morning. Apart from being underwhelmed by the redesign, I am disappointed by the glaring errors which indicate that the management team haven't actually read it before approving its release (unless they are incompetent/illiterate which I doubt).
For example, the initial Savings page says of the Basic Share Account: "£5 must be on deposit at all times". But the Key Features for the account say: "A minimum of £10.00 must be held in your Basic Share Account at anytime". If it was obviously inconsistent to me, how could any DotComUnity manager miss it? And then there is the inevitable misuse of apostrophes in plural nouns.......
It seems so sad after the excellent customer service I received last year.
Update: Web-site changed overnight to remove inconsistency - both pages now refer to £10 as the minimum.0 -
They definitely are illiterate. After having had their errors pointed out to them on here umpteen times they still produce a site with errors on it.
If I were you I'd take a screenshot of the variants that you have outlined in case they try and say that you have not complied with their terms and conditions at any point.
They may well be trying their best to make this come good. But given the fiasco of late I just don't have faith in their ability.0 -
Or their honesty.
"You have absolutely no concerns here".
"Voluntary restrictions" (presumably a bit like when someone "voluntarily" accepts an invitation to attend an interview at a police station, because the alternative is for them to be dragged there).0 -
no mail, snail or electronic from them yet:mad:0

Totally agree "voluntary" is wrong and misleading, see post# 387 the PRU imposed these restrictions, this has been confirmed to me today by email from the FCA stating the same as post 387.
The FCA advised that I need to take the matter up with FOS ,but I would need to make a formal complaint to Dotcomunity first and then wait 8 weeks before I could contact them.
I'm not sure how effective a complaint to the FOS would be, as if, a regulatory body has placed an embargo on a organisation, they have to adhere to it.
I wonder if they are actually going to send out a message or are they playing for time.0 -
No sign of the promised email from them I see. But then I am not sure if I have much confidence that we would even be told the truth anyway?
In addition to updating their website they have also deleted all of the critical posts made on their facebook page seeking an update on the key issues we have been discussing here - several of these were posted by a forum member on here I believe.
They continue to post nonsense on the facebook page however while ignoring and deleting their members comments - e.g. in the last 48 hours:
"Have you got any useful tips to add?
MONEY makes you happy – provided you don't have too much.
and this corker
Perhaps we will all be paying at the counter by swiping our hands? A good or bad Idea? What do you think? "

I don't think they've deleted the posts, they're just further down on the left hand side. I see posts from Steve and Malcolm.
I particularly like this quote:
We are all aware that life is very unpredictable.
So will saving help soften the blow of future hardship we may encounter?
NO! Not if you can't get at your savings when you need them! Life is more predictable to not have savings than to think you have them when you don't!0
