thank you for your advice, you have sucedded in making me feel like a really evil, worthless person, I hope you are satisfied.
Nobody set yout to do this, but you didn't help matters by sounding like you were after nothing but compensation.
All I wanted was a bit of friendly advice, maybe someone had had it happen to them and got sent a £5 voucher or something as a gesture of goodwill. But oh no you choose to attack me instead of just ignoring the post.
I'm sure friendly advice would have been given to you if your original post didn't sound quite so rude. " please noone reply with-it was an accident why do you expect to gain from it blah blah blah"
I see lots of posts every day that i don't agree with, and I just leave them, you know, if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I'm sure you would be feeling different if some undesirable had your home number and mobile number, or maybe stole your details to order stuff?
Everyone is entitled to an oppinion, wether it be favourable or not. I'm sure I would be upset to find my details left in the hands of someone who shouldn't have them, in this instance, you are the person who has other folks details. It is thoose customers who have more right if any for something to "keep them sweet". The delivery person who left thoose details will not only recieve a severe discipline at work, but should they still be serving a probationary period, they'll more than likely loose their job too. I'm sure he/she will feel awful about what's happened, I'm sure that's compensation enough.
oh well nevermind, i thought mse was a friendly place, obviously not. tara
ps-this is not an ethical webiste, it is a moneysaving website, dedicated to consumer revenge, I'm sick of everytime somebody posts a thread another person coming on and debating the rights and wrongs of it, like when someone posts £1 chickens and people get on their high horse saying "but what quality of life did they have"etc
You're right, MSE isn't an ethics website, it is about consumer revenge. As I've said already, you've not been wronged in this instance, therefor as I see it, you have no revenge to take.

Please understand this isn't an attack on you, it is my own personal take on your attitude towards a simple mistake.

    Hello Chris
I sincerely hope this remark wasn't directed at me, but as the original poster didn't mention the phrase to which you are replying "I wasn't expecting anything" and I did, I somehow feel it was.
You're right, I was expecting something, a thank you would have been nice or maybe the guy actually turning up to correct his error, but I suppose that would have meant extra petrol etc.
I suggest in future you actually read what was written and not assume that just because I started my message off with the fact that I too have had this happen that it doesn't automatically mean I'm on the scrounge because funnily enough I'm not and I wasn't when it happened over a YEAR ago.
Have a nice day now :)

No this was directed to yorkshire pudding. Who i felt was just wanting compensation, for some poor delivery drivers error.

And when i read the topic heading, i thought that they had loads of information on people, not just address and phone numbers.

And i felt that they was trying to cash in on a schoolboy error.

Seems others feel the same way.

i have in my possesion an asda.com load planner, containing a list of all the customers' names, addresses and telephone numbers for that delivery day, the driver must have given it to me with my invoice. I am waiting for the manager to call me back, what should I say, am really mad about this and if my details had been left at someone elses house I would have been furious. Should I expect them to offer me anything to "keep me sweet".
please noone reply with-it was an accident why do you expect to gain from it blah blah blah, like you did when my gran had that fall in morissons (she died by the way) if that is your opinion then keep it to yourself, I want some useful advice on what to say. thanks yp

Shred/Burn the document and phone them to tell them that the document has been safely disposed of.

    End of problem.

No, you didnt you wanted to know how to go about asking for a "nice little sweetener"

At the end of the day you were looking to try to blackmail them into giving you something when they have made an error. Its gone wrong for you

At the end of the day, if you dont like people having a difference of opinion to you then why did you put the post on the forum? Did you really think that MSE would all agree with you

Its callled human error it happens. Punishing people for it isn't the best thing to do. That driver could lose his job over a single error like this and he probably has a familty to feed.

I would suggest you think about something like that, next time you decide to do something so 'selfish', imagine if you were the driver.

Sorry, but what a truly pathetic original post.

Quite what it is doing in 'shop but dont drop' I do not know.

I would be ashamed of myself-you are trying to make something out of nothing. How extremely fortunate that this expose of peoples details ended up in your safe hands. Do the decent thing-bin it, give yourself a pat on the back for being able to help a fellow human being out of an unfortunate mistake and get on with your life.

Your reward will be a small glow of satisfaction that you might have helped a stranger. It cant be banked, but is much more valuable than you might think.

I am sick to death of this compensation culture we live in. I actually saw a woman take a trip because a paving slab was slightly uneven she then came up to me and said "you saw that didn't you ? Will you be a witness?"

This is not some serious corrupt data collection scheme but a simple and innocent mistake by the driver. We can all make mistakes we are after all only human.

It is this compensation thirst that has led to the ricdiculas health and safety laws that we find ourselves having to deal with. I went to my nieces summer dance today and was informed half way through that it would be canceled as they could not risk children falling over. I mean come on if we protect children form every knock or bump they may face and wrap them in bubble wrap how will they learn grow and develop.

I've just niticed that i've gone from Asda > children falling :-)
    Merry Christmas MSE!
