Here's a quote from the ICO's website:-
What is my personal information?
Personal information is information about you. It can be your name, address or telephone number. It can also be the type of job you do, the things you buy and the place you went to school.
Why is managing my personal information important?
We all give our personal information to different organisations to allow us to do everyday things. For example, we give our credit card numbers when we do our internet shopping, we provide our health details to insurance companies and we give personal information in exchange for supermarket loyalty points.
Organisations that hold your personal information must use it fairly, keep it secure, make sure the information is accurate and keep it up to date, and we have the right to expect this from them.

Being exdirectory doesn't stop people getting hold of your phone number.
So i take it your not going down the compensation road0 -

Yes you can but by the same token you can elect to either not shop at ASDA not to have your shopping delivered by them if you want to ensure that your details remain 100% safe.
As someone else suggested give the planner back to the delivery guy and leave it at that.0 -
Id be looking for atleast £5000 to keep my sweet for this.
And then there is the distress thats been caused £2000
Then there is the costs of the phone call to the manager another £2000
then there is the time that youve wasted posting on the forum £1000
So yeh i mean id be looking to keep you sweet with an offer of £10,000 to cover what was an error a mistake, but im sure you have never EVER made one so just to help here is the Google definition of a mistakea wrong action attributable to bad judgment or ignorance or inattention; "he made a bad mistake"; "she was quick to point out my errors"; "I could understand his English in spite of his grammatical faults"
Yet another MSE looking for compensation when they have not lost out on anything.
Yet another person jumping on the band wagon!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
thank you for your advice, you have sucedded in making me feel like a really evil, worthless person, I hope you are satisfied. All I wanted was a bit of friendly advice, maybe someone had had it happen to them and got sent a £5 voucher or something as a gesture of goodwill. But oh no you choose to attack me instead of just ignoring the post. I see lots of posts every day that i don't agree with, and I just leave them, you know, if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I'm sure you would be feeling different if some undesirable had your home number and mobile number, or maybe stole your details to order stuff? oh well nevermind, i thought mse was a friendly place, obviously not. tara
ps-this is not an ethical webiste, it is a moneysaving website, dedicated to consumer revenge, I'm sick of everytime somebody posts a thread another person coming on and debating the rights and wrongs of it, like when someone posts £1 chickens and people get on their high horse saying "but what quality of life did they have"etcIt's definitely not definately!0 -

Surely the only people even remotely entitled to compensation would be the people whose data you now have.
NOT you,who should now only be interested in returning it to its rightfull owner.
If everyone expects a £5 voucher for every error a shop makes then the cost of our shopping will rise:mad:
You have lost nothing or been inconvenienced .
I don't see how you expect a £5 voucher.
Sorry thats just my opinion,I do not think you are an evil worthless person, just worry that you are caught up in the ever growing blame culture sweeping the country.
Just remember everyone makes mistakes.

But;
Customers get compensated for every little mistake- The Supermarkets costs increase- The supermarkets pass on the cost to the consumer through increased prices- No money saving!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hello Chris
I sincerely hope this remark wasn't directed at me, but as the original poster didn't mention the phrase to which you are replying "I wasn't expecting anything" and I did, I somehow feel it was.
You're right, I was expecting something, a thank you would have been nice or maybe the guy actually turning up to correct his error, but I suppose that would have meant extra petrol etc.
I suggest in future you actually read what was written and not assume that just because I started my message off with the fact that I too have had this happen that it doesn't automatically mean I'm on the scrounge because funnily enough I'm not and I wasn't when it happened over a YEAR ago.
Have a nice day now
