WOOHOO A UU !
Just a boring Everyday Value shower gel from tesco, bought as a 'it will do the job' because is was 30p and I'm at the end of my student loan :P Might buy again if I end up in a similar situation or trying to save money as it was alright when combined with a body puff thingFrugal Student!!!0 -

I'm not fuzzy what I brush my teeth with and when my lovely daughters think they have finished a tube there are 2 weeks worth of paste left each time! Same applies for foundations, moisturisers, cream deos, shower gels, shampoos they are bored by...I have bought neither for months, just finishing off theirs....;)
Welcome and yes. My 15 year old daughter Emma is terrible for opening products using half and then opening more. Plus last year I subscribed to a Beauty Box for her as she has a Beauty Blog and I have ended up with the cast offs from those that she doesn't like.
Must say though that MrM is getting very good at turning bottles upside down and cutting tubes open of his own products.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

It's the 4th of April and we're already at 8 pages!! I'm never going to keep up!
I have two UUs:
Champney spa treatments energising lime body wash 200 ml - lovely smell, I love citrus scents. Still have the gel, and souffl! to use up WBA
palmolive kitchen hand wash 300ml - did what it said, dealt with strong food smells quite well. Replaced with Carex Protext Plus.
It's been a very long week and I'm looking forward to a lie in and a pamper this weekend! I have a few things that are beginning to splutter, but as always, they're the things I don't want spluttering, like my favourite moisturiser and an awesome bb cream. C'est la vie!
Hope everyone is well, back to work I go.0 -

They are big bottles of Jason Natural Cosmetics Sea Kelp shampoo and conditioner, which were bought for me years and years ago by a boyfriend. Unfortunately he died at a very young age and I have kept the bottles (half to three quarters used) because I don't want to throw them out, or use them. Should I just use them up and stop being a weirdo? Or is this a normal thing to do. Thinking about using them makes me feel a bit sad to be honest.
What do you brainy and insightful ladies all think?
( I hope this isn't a downer for anyone!)
I'm very late to the game, but I agree with the other comments.
I work in an area that involves bereavement (it's why you'll also find me over on the funeral and probates board occasionally giving advice on contentious probate matters), and people often say 'you must think I'm so silly holding on to X'. It's not.
This thread is about decluttering and saving money yes, but also about dealing with your problems and making yourself happier. A lot of us buy things because we're unhappy or to supplement something. If those bottles give you good memories, then they're not clutter, they're to be cherished. Clean them up, put them on display somewhere, and pull something else out of the stash to use0 -

thank you for a brilliant and very thought out post roguelawyer, a lot of stash and hoarding issues begin because of something else and before you can deal with the stash you usually need to come to terms with the reasoning for it.
afternoon all tried to post this morning but puter was like treacle so i went hairdressers and had split ends and roots dealt with.
sundaysgirls not long now, enjoy your days and dont forget we are looking forward to news and photos afterwards
hugs to all that need/want them
well done to everyone whos stash is starting to decrease
a couple of UUs to report
a Radox bubble bath
lush smitten hand cream finally gone ive had it stood upside down and shook the last out of it after the pump started spluttering a few days ago. didnt like it and i think it was another that was 'going over' it had a Plasticine smell and left my skin feeling a bit too greasy. but im sure this is because id had it stashed too long and its not meant to smell or feel like that.SPC~12 ot 124

So true. Mine came from buying things to pamper myself because I felt exhausted.
I work long hours and my little boy is amazing and adorable but has additional needs. Pampering is my escape- I don't go out, I don't smoke & I drink little alcohol. So this is my "thing".
So whilst I use up the stash I can save to replace with the high end brands I love. Now I know what I like so much I'd rather have less but of the more expensive stuff.0 -
if you rather want to get rid of it to have a spring clean you can always offer what you really no longer want to use on freecycle/freegle. Might give you some breathing space or you will spend years to use up stuff you no longer really like....I have a similar issue with books (might be OCD, other people call it hoarding
). First step - not buying any until others go!

Absolutely-although I would clarify my post in so far that when I state 'unhappy' it doesn't mean we're all unhappy all the time. I meant to say unhappy or in 'need' of something, whether it's a boost, a change or to scratch an itch!!0
