    Should have looked first!

Hope she's not relying on making her living as a freelance writer based on the erudition of her posts to date.
  • I can certainly agree regarding Trustpilot as I have just found out. On Saturday I posted a 1 star review for Music Magpie, quoting the order number in the title. There were a couple of other people as well that had done the same.

Somewhat surprised therefore this morning to receive an email from Trustpilot asking me to verify the review. I checked the site, and sure enough, all the reviews had been removed at the request of the company due to "no proof of purchase".

I have sent them a copy of Music Magpie's emails with the order number quoted, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

The reviewcentre do seem to be a lot better. There are a whole lot of recent negative reviews that Music Magpie so far appear to have failed to have removed.

Yes. This is the point I was raising. The said can be said for some price compairson websites. For example in one of my other posts https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4939470

If there is a financial transaction between review site or comparision site and a business concerned then there is the possibility of some jiggerypokery. possibly. That's why I like Google reviews
  • You're just ignoring the fact that you can write fake google reviews?

i won't be bothering leaving any reviews on Trustpilot again after my recent experience.

    2 verified purchases -
1 company didn't like my negative review regarding their shambolic delivery service & complete ineptitude of the CS staff in trying to sort the mess out.

the other company have objected to my review as i have pointed out that their luxury 4* rated holiday property was far from 4* & was very expensive considering the poor state it was in. because i've referred to the accommodation instead of just reviewing the service received from the holiday booking company (i did say there were no problems with booking, but that was the only contact we had with them), they can get it removed. there's hundreds of positive reviews mentioning the accommodation, but they're allowed, obviously!
  • If you refer in particular to the Mighty Deals forum here you will find that Trustpilot are actually working for the businesses when it comes to reviews. Dozens and dozens of perfectly legitimate reviewers have put negative comments on about Mighty Deals only to find that they have been removed.
Despite the raft of negative reviews the company still has a higher than average score and some of the positive reviews are more than dubious and yet they have not been questioned?
Up to the issue with Mighty Deals I actually thought Trustpilot were a legitimate unbiased review site but if you read their website carefully they are business led. Some of those businesses take advantage of that relationship!!
I think the recent issues with Mighty Deals has also ruined Trustpilot's reputation - my advice is don't trust them!!

Take this happy punter as an example:

Chris is extremely happy and gives Mighty Deals five stars simply for accepting an order! :rotfl:

Erm, a very useful and detailed review. :T

I tend to use a broader range of review sites to inform my decision, from Which?, internet review sites and specialist interest forums. Trustpilot might be one of them but never exclusively.
