I feel like I'm never going to get a job...

  • Never once have I done that.

You seem to be displaying some nasty traits that might explain why you are having difficulty finding a job.

I’d like to end this exchange now as I do not appreciate people making false accusations and judgements about me and trying to put words into my mouth. I have remained civil and polite towards you and had hoped you would at least be able to do the same towards me regardless of whether I agree with you or not.

You're losing the argument, more like
  • There is no argument to be had. We both have different opinions. Unfortunately whilst I respect yours you don’t seem to be able to respect mine.

As I said I’d rather stop this now than continue to have you throw insults and lies at me. Thank you.

I'm sorry if you think I am being unpleasant towards you.

But I am inclined to say what I think when others claim that the unemployed must find it easy to get a job, as an opening contribution to this thread.

Added to which, I have been trying to get back to the point - but you just accuse me of being unpleasant towards you.
  • I don’t wish to comment any further thank you.

Going back to your first post, I agree upon thinking about it that you didn't say that the unemployed are to blame for their situation (although I strongly suspect that this is what you were thinking).

I do apologise for some of my strong comments. Maybe some were too strong.

I do have the tendency to hark back to something and to want to prove a point-- probably due to my having mild Aspergers syndrome.

I do get frustrated when I prepare really thoroughly for a job that I know I can do well, only to get turned down at the interview stage (or more frequently not even get an interview). I'm not stupid, have a good level of education and all of these recruiters seem to say that transferable skills are really important and you can get away without direct and exact experience of a job if you can demonstrate these transferable skills. That does not really seem to be the case, however.
I can also lack confidence in general, and more to the point in an interview situation. Means I haven;t made the most of my skills over the years - but I have always tried my best in jobs I have had, and always aimed to help the customer as best I can.

I do have the tendency to get annoyed when others suggest it must be easy to get a job. Particularly when they seem to be ignoring the blindingly obvious. Nevertheless, I should not have gone on and on.

Of course, I should have spent more time this morning job searching, rather than engaging in this ultimately pointless discussion. But I have become rather disheartened recently. Need to pick myself up and be more positive (although I must stress I have applied for several jobs this week, some of which have involved completing detailed application forms).
  • Thank you for that previous message it is appreciated. I understand you must be getting a bit frustrated in your current situation and I wish you all the very best in your job hunt - I hope you find something very soon.
