As promised
I started using a 125 ml compressed and a 250 ml normal bottle on the 1/4. the one under each arm and alternating. cant be sure the exact same was used each time but it has to be very similar.
the compressed ran out this morning, the normal bottle is still going will update again when that runs out
Update
The 250ml "less" compressed can ran out today, my wife used it one day so the results are.
I used one can each under one arm for 63 days. so if using normally the 12ml compressed can ran out after 31 and half days (call it 32).
250 ml can ran out after another 15 days plus one (for my wife) so 16 days (using under both arms.
Results are that the 250ml can has outlasted the 125ml by half as much again or 50%, so much for Dove advertisng it has the same amount in.
I am going to start a new thread about this and also get in touch with Dove0 -
Another thread,really?

I didnt start a new thread so you you will be happy
as you know it wasnt a scientific piece of research.
Both bottles were used under normal usage conditions and as posted the 250ml bottle lasted 50% extra.
do you not have a problem with a company that introduces a bottle half the size for the same cost and then claim it lasts just as long ?
If the difference had been 10% or so, I wouldnt be bothered but IMO it is false advertising0 -
We found that it didnt last longer also. We no longer purchase their product and tell others not to bother also.
I wonder how much their sales have dropped since reducing the can size?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I think the issue is that , YES, they are putting the same amount of compound( scent/powder etc) in the new smaller tin, but they will be using a smaller/same amount of propellant too.
The smaller tins, when used will most likely use far more propellant to jet out the compound, but this will run out sooner then the compound contained in the tin.
It has been like this for years. You always end up with compound left inside the canister and no gas to propel it. Its the same with the pump and spray bottles of product, they do not have the force to eject the compound out efficiently.
They are being legal in what they claim, they are putting the same amount of compound in the smaller tins, just that it wont be able to come out, as you will run out of propellant faster than the old ones. Environmentally friendly tins yes, consumer friendly packaging No.0 -
I can't say I noticed that they lasted longer than the normal sized ones.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Dove's webiste:Dove compressed with ¼ moisturisers is effective protection plus care in a little can. Use Dove compressed just like your normal 250ml Dove aerosol and it will last just as long.
It seems quite clear that they're saying if you use the compressed version "just like" the "normal" version "it will last just as long."
I don't think there's much legal wiggle room for them there.0 -
I emailed Dove and they have just replied that if I send them the receipt and the barcode they will refund me the value as long as i send it before a date in a few weeks time.
Thing is i didnt ask for a refund and am really not bothered about a refund, i just wanted them to tell me why they advertise that it lasts as long...they didnt address that question at all0 -

Ah marketing up to their old tricks then , lol
You aren't the only ones, have you read some of the posts on their site?

Everything sounds better when you put Environment into the strap line.
I would suggest stocking up on brands who are changing their packaging at places like Homebargains, B&M, Poundstretcher etc, that is where they clear all the old stock out of. Otherwise change your brand.0
