Hello
I've got a problem accessing my on-line banking. It's Santander. I keep getting the error message saying the site can't be trusted - certificate expired - exit to safety.
I've had this 100's of time before. Santander said it is to do with cookies - just basically delete all browsing history and start again and it has always recticified it. However, it's not longer sorting the problem and I can't access my account.
Any ideas what is going on. I'm 100% certain it is to do with my computer and not the website.

What date does your computer think it is? There's another thread going on at the moment where the computer thinks it's 2005 and that's causing certificate expiry issues.

No, the computer time is always correct. The certificate shows it expired a couple of seconds before the clock on my computer.0 -
Which browser? have you tried it in another browser?I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0

What browser are you using?
IE (8 in particular if I remember correctly) had particularly "aggressive" caching, where deleting the history didn't really delete everything you told it to, and forced refreshes didn't refresh everything.
Can you try a different browser?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Yep, usually I use Chrome but when this problem persists I use Mozilla. It's doing the same on there so I've tried explorer too! What browser are you using?

Actually - I've just had a thought - this has become worse since I did a CClean and I also deleted a few things from my startup menu. I can't really see why this would affect it though?0

Are you going to your banking site via a bookmark?
If you are, try deleting it, then manually go to your banking log on and try it. If it works you can re-bookmark it.
Just go back to the Startup and re-enable the ones you disabled one at a time.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

That sounded like a brilliant idea. Tried it, but no, that didn't work either!
Any other offers?0 -
Do you have another computer (e.g. tablet, phone) that you could use to try accessing the bank's website? (Just trying to determine whether it's a problem at the bank's side or your computer's).0
