  • I had my fitness assessment done yesterday just wondering how long I should expect to wait before it appears on my statement plus has anybody else not been asked to do the step test during it because the blood pressure was too high and does this affect getting the points?

My husband wasn't allowed to do the step test due to high BP, but he still got the 300 vitality points.

It should only take a couple of weeks max to show up. One of my assessments hadn't registered after about a month and in the end I had to fax the form the gym had given me to Pruhealth myself. When I sort of complained that I was under the impression that the gym were at fault for not faxing my form through, the gentleman at Pruhealth categorically stated that it was my responsibility to ensure details of the assessment had reached them.

I have been told by 2 people at Pruhealth that you can gain 150pts each per month for Gym and the Fitbug. However points can not be gained for both on the same day (unless you complete the initial 15 gym days). I have edited the post to make it more clearer.

I too was told different things by different people regarding the 150pts gym/fitbug total. The latest was that it is 150pts max per month for the activites combined.

Not what I wanted to hear at all, I was hoping to get 150 from the gym and 150 for fitbug each month.

I have asked for confirmation of the situation in writing, so will just have to wait and see what comes through.

After taking my 2nd fitness test in mid-July, I had to chase PruHealth to find out if they had received the fax. Fortunately my gym were able to re-send it this week and here's the points I picked up, and the categories they fall under:-

    Nutrition:
Maintaining target BMI - 50 pts
    Screening:
Improving blood pressure 1 level - 100 pts
    Exercise:
Improving your fitness rating 4 levels - 370 pts
Fitness Assessment - 300 pts (although as I've reached 1500 in exercise category now, this was rounded down to zero)

This goes to show that there are plenty of points that can be picked up through a follow-up fitness test that fall outside the 'Exercise' category, which has a maximum of 1500 pts.

My first fitness assessment also picked me up 300 pts, but no other extra points as it acts as the baseline against which they measure any improvements in health/fitness.

I'm now over 2000 points and have hit platinum status in time for policy renewal at the end of September. I now just need to make sure I get my 26 visits in this quarter to ensure a free next quarter prior to the gym scheme changing, which as I'm in London will be £8 a month IIRC. With a massive discount on the PruHealth policy though it is still a cracking deal.

  • Found this link that points to a bit more than a BOGOF for cineworld
    http://www.seetherewards.co.uk/
Looks like there might be an opportunity to buy an annual pass, greatly reduced price when your platinum.

If you log on to the Pru Health site now you can see the details of the 3 new partners and the Cineworld is a £25 per year one off for unlimited cinema if you are platinum and slightly more expensive if you are gold etc.

You have to log in to the member zone for full details - something I cant do with the new site. It's gets to 59% loading and nothing more?? Anyone else get in?

no... looks like teething problems with the new site. the cineworld offer sound really good though! it's £11.99 per month direct from the cinema!
  • I think new website still has some work to be done is taking a long time to load at some points. New rewards look very good- Prices are for people with both pruhealth and pru protect.

    Bronze Silver Gold Platinum

    Cineworld Annual Pass £90 £60 £40 £25

    Mark Warner Holidays 7.5% 15% 25% 45%

    Eurostar £50 £35 £20 £5

    Pru health only prices are

    Bronze Silver Gold Platinum

Cineworld Annual Pass £90 £60 £40 £25 (Looks like the same)

    Mark Warner Holidays 5% 10% 20% 40%

    Eurostar £75 £50 £25 £10

Does anyone know if there is a limit such as you only get to choose one of the rewards?

I was chuffed as punch when I found out that the gym model was changing so that platinum members (very easily achievable, I did it in around 6-7 months) could get the gym for free without the min visits (very handy, I'm super busy sometimes!).

So you wouldn't believe my surprise when I found out yesterday that I could get a cineworld annual pass for £25, or go to Paris for £10. All this for aorund £3.50, amazing!

I've been bouncing about like a silly hen all day since :)
