  • Am fed up with all the slogans in the magazines about bikini bodies etc. this pressure every summer to look a certain way......why can't we let people wear whatever the heck they like?! If you want to wear a two piece fill ya boots. If you want to wear something less revealing that's ok.

Couldn't agree with you more BB. My friend is at least a size 20 and not at all toned, she lives in bikinis on holiday, as she says no one knows her and she doesn't care what they think. I am a little more modest and wear either a one piece or a tankini, as I like to swim for exercise rather than sun bathing, but as you say it should be personal preference and no-one else's concern.

I am enjoying the weather now it's cooler. Anything above 25 degrees and I loathe it. Am definitely a winter girl at heart :o

me too BB pleasantly warm does me.

Am fed up with all the slogans in the magazines about bikini bodies etc. this pressure every summer to look a certain way......why can't we let people wear whatever the heck they like?! If you want to wear a two piece fill ya boots. If you want to wear something less revealing that's ok. Me I shall be in a swimsuit this weekend in the beach in Devon. I shall also be sporting a wetsuit so that I don't freeze to death  will I look a tiny bit like the michelin man.....possibly but I am really past caring. I've hated my body for over a decade and it's about time I packed it in. My kids won't care what I look like, it will be about having fun and enjoying the waves. I don't want to miss out on making memories with them because I am self conscious about what other people think.

    Here endeth the sermon :o

So true but if you haven't had this mindset it is a case of trying to train yourself not to care. I think its definitely the right attitude though. :)

I also have got out of the habit of posting on here. I used to come on MSE daily and I don't any more  as much as I don't want to get sucked into more time suckage posting more often did help me. I always do the basics but I haven't painted my toes for aaaaaaages so I made time for that last night.

Same here BB can lose hours doing nothing much on line - need to get a grip on it. :o

That's enough of a ramble for me :o

Hugs and spoons all round. Sorry to not really comment individually there are rather too many posts to catch up on :o:o

Lizzie tough love definitely needed. If you keep bailing her out she will never learn xx hard place to be in though xx

Yes it's very hard and her being mentally unstable is an added worry but thus far my offers of help have been ignored. H thinks I should 'insist' but how can I she's an adult? As I see it I can only offer and it's her prerogative not to take it but I am not going to listen to her outpourings months down the line if things get worse. I have enough on my plate already. I'm finding it really tough though. :(

Applied for a couple of jobs this morning so send positive vibes my way please.

:hello: Well I have taken myself firmly in hand over the last week and I have been exercising every day as well as eating healthily :D Pilates and yoga each day are helping me to feel relaxed and I can see a bit of muscle tone starting to develop. Long walks have also helped to clear out the cobwebs.

Today I was completely ruthless and gutted out all the clothes I own that do not make me feel good and then I went to the shops and I got a couple of inexpensive key pieces so that I have a summer capsule wardrobe :D I will have to think about work clothes soon, however I want to give it thought before making any purchases.

The sunshine has really lifted my spirits and I feel brighter and lighter which is lovely. As for other fabbing I have booked a few hours baby free next week to have a home spa day which will be just what I need to add the polish to my other cabbing achievements :D

Hope you are all well and fabulous :T

    Hello ladies....

Glad everyone is well and continues fabbing. I am lying her with hay fever red raw eyes... Which is not very fabbing!!! At all!! Have my drops tho and having a lazy lie down to relax while OH watches... You guessed it the football!!!

Fabbing Friday was a flop today, had a blue top and jeans on... Not very glamorous but never mind. Toe nails painted purple glitter so that s at least something :)

Need to do the ironing pile really to get done things out to wear!!

Just popping back on to wish you all a fab summer solstice.

I hope you're all doing fabulously.

As for me..life has turned another corner....I'm still keeping up my fab regime, maintaining my heathy weight, exercise and physical activity levels, wearing the clothes I have and wearing perfume, jewellery and make up every day.

I passed my uni course, started my new job, reduced my hours in my old job and all is working out much better than I expected. Plus I now have BF too, very happy with how things are going, nice and funny and steady.

All the fabness on here paid off, all those tiny steps, building back up to feeling fab worked a treat.

So, if you feel fed up, take those baby tiny steps and build a weekly routine up, then it becomes second nature rather than weird or no time to do any fabness in.

Hugs to all those who need them. And keep on fabbing through to the autumn equinox

  • Morning all:j
    Lovely sunny day today.
Spent yesterday at the beach with friends and did some surfing ... Ended up with huge bruise to my thigh but felt good.
Still doing yoga daily and meditating.
For the main part am eating clean with occasional treats... Paleo did not work for me at all.., the amount of meat and eggs and lack of grains made me sluggish.
Baby girl is now 14 months and into everything ... My previously tidy home looks like Mr Trebus house.
It's worth it though and I've actually managed to learn to put the mess out of my head and just live in the moment ... A big thing for my Asperger brain so am proud of that.
Noah still struggling with mental health aspects of his autism and now struggling with eating disorder but we will get there.
Positive thing was after a long battle with LEA for 9 months .... Constant research and evidence gathering on my part won the day as he was granted a place at the specialist autism secondary school I wanted :T

Today I'm wearing a black maxi skirt and green vest with jewelled sandals and feeling good.
Will be doing yoga later and could do with a pedicure later and will slather on some deep conditioning body oil.
Loving the Soap and Glory range right now.. The smell is lush.

Do we need to be starting a new thread now it's summer solstice ?
