I had a weekend of eating waaaay too much cake and feel very icky now!

One great thing was that I had a make up lesson on Saturday. We went to a vegan festival and there was someone selling mineral make up so I spoke to her and she gave me loads of tips about applying make up and what to look for in a product, what would suit my skin etc. so I bought some powder foundation and a nice brush. I love it!

    Hi all,

Sorry some of you are having a rough time. :(

Not been on for a while as I'm trying to cut down my sitting at the computer time :o.

Back from my weekend break last weekend I felt ok although it got off to a poor start. As some of you may know I do a lot for my family and 2 of my children didn't seem to want to make the effort to enjoy my weekend with me. I got quite upset as that had been the idea my son had in mind when he booked it. I hesitate to use the phrase ' after all I've done for you' as my mum used to say it to me and I hated it but that's how I felt. In the end one of my children stayed at home but the rest went and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately it has caused a fall out between my son and the daughter who didn't go. I'm trying to keep out of it but...

As for the fabbing I'm trying to keep it up but am feeling down again so it is becoming a bit difficult to motivate myself. I went out with a friend Sat so made an effort then but it again brought home to me the fact that I rarely go out and there are loads of things I want to do. I haven't much money so it isn't possible all the time but when there's something I especially want to do/see I have very few friends to ask. If i could drive i think i'd be more up for going it alone but having to negotiate unfamiliar public transport or the lack of it holds me back.

H has been getting me down again too. I just don't see an end to my situation. Despite trying to get work (dog walking, decorating (SE) or employed work) I haven't managed it and my glass is beginning to feel empty. I know in the scheme of things my situation isn't that bad but atm I can't focus on that.

Lizzie, so sorry that things are a bit bleurgh for you at present, sending lots of positive thoughts in your direction. With regard to H, I suggest mentally putting your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la", or better still if you can really do it:D, it must be so wearing, but I believe that one day your time will come. x

I moved several counties and 150 miles with OH three years ago and left behind 30 years of friends, lovely neighbours and lots of craft chums, although I have family 20 or so miles away, they all have busy lives and I have had to start again:(, I have had to make a conscious effort not to be lonely:). I have a large garden, which I am getting as I want it and have joined a knit and natter group, a wonderful mix of ladies and great fun. I spent a solitary childhood and although I enjoy being with people I can comfortably get by most of the time. I can drive and have fairly free access to the family car, but mobility problems hold me back a bit, so I can sort of understand how you feel. No children to spoil, so the furbabe that is a border collie gets lots of attention and play, even though I cannot take her for long walks (that is the thing that gets me down the most, I have always been very active:(
    Take care.

Hi everyone, sorry I've been awol for a while and haven't fabbed much :(

lessonlearned you're so courageous, thankyou for sharing things that must be difficult for you, it helps others to deal with things.

I've lost my motivation for fabbing :( I don't know why, cos I've been doing lots of walking in training for the MoonWalk this weekend, but I can't seem to get myself into gear with anything else so it's jeans and T shirts every day. I bought some BB cream to use as moisturiser on my face but I've stopped using it, I think because it feels thick? The only thing I'm still using regularly (I've never been one for make-up) is a moisturising serum from the Body Shop because it feels and smells nice and it does seem to work. Maybe I have to accept I'll never be chic and put-together like some ladies I see at work, and maybe that's OK. I don't know.

Anyway it's good to see others getting on with the fabbing and feeling better, and I hope I'll snap out of this soon and get back to it.

    Cheers

Rosy What an amazing thing you are doing this weekend :D Fabbing is meant to make you feel good not something to have hanging over you so just try to do a couple of things per day that make you feel fabulous.

But hey no gain, off I head. :)

Yesterday I went to get my foundation and the lovely lady gave me a mini makeover and used all sorts of wonderful things on my skin which left me glowing :D Sadly I only have a teeny budget so I bought the foundation and a foundation brush to apply it with and the rest I can consider if pennies come my way. It must have been good as even my OH said I looked good and asked what had happened :rotfl:

Today I have exercised and eaten healthily and I am about to go and do my skincare regime before bed. I hope you are all feeling suitably fabulous :D

I didn't feel particularly fab yesterday so I put on my dress that looks good no matter what and tried my new foundation. I received a few compliments! DH said my face looked really fresh with the foundation too which is just what I'm going for.

I also bought a pair of pumps to wear when I'm volunteering, nothing fancy, just not the trainers I was having to wear. They were only cheap and cheerful but they look better and are comfy to work in so that's the main thing.

Hope everyone has a positive day.

Good to hear little bits of fabbing going on however small.;)

I'm gearing up to my holiday next week, gradually building up a tiny bit of fake tan so I don't look to pasty on arrival. It's been a bonus these last few days as I've been able to let my legs out for an airing.

I need some flat pumps for my holiday alec. I bought these

that's the silver pair in the middle. very cheap and cheerful but also very soft and comfortable and they'll look good with my black evening trousers and maxi dresses. Our resort is very hilly so heels don't make sense. I've also got Birkenstocks for daytime but I could do with some canvas flats (espadrille/plimsoll type). I had some last year and wore them to death.

    What did you buy?

Off out to lunch today. I really shouldn't be over-eating before showing off bikini body but......:o

Another glorious day here, :wave:to all.
