    Yup, i'll second that
    2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)
  • We looked at 3 in 2 weeks, then went for a 2nd viewing & put an offer in on the first one we looked at :)

To be fair, we did a lot of looking & checking out on line first, we had a list of would likes in our heads & 3 must have's! e.g. a dining space/room, any that didn't have those 3 things were crossed off the list, then I checked out google maps & some were crossed off because they weren't where we wanted to live, then we spent a Sunday afternoon driving around the area with our sat nav looking at the streets & nearby areas, we then had a shortlist and arranged our viewings with our favourites from the list.

    I'll third that :)

Did a lot of online research, but nothing else in the area/to our budget came close. Still living in it now, still loving it, but will move somewhere bigger in a few years, and hope someone else is as happy here as we are!

    D'oh! I just re-read and you said 4 months.

Doing our head in. But just moved down to Portsmouth from London. No idea which areas are good. Looked all over. We have 4 viewings tomorrow evening after work and saw 3 today. Most are overpriced and need lots of work doing to them.

Viewed about 20 in the last 6 months. Offered asking price on 5 of them and even offered 6k above asking on one of them and still got out bid! It's so frustrating! Im still looking. Turned up to one of them today and they couldn't open the front door so wasted my time!

You will learn to hate estate agents. I can't stand the rubbish they say when they are showing you around the house. My main advice is don't feel pressured by them.

Thanks, that's good advice. I was advised to go there at weekend nights to see if there is likely to be loud noises like dog barking, parties etc. I know visiting one night may not give accurate picture of what life will be like there.

Also, what's a decent website to check on crime rates? I've seen a few on google but each gives varying answers so I'm wondering if it's made up. Although saying that, I currently live in Peckham so doubt there'd be many places with a higher crime rate than that.

I believe we're onto about 15 since September last year, although we didn't view anything in November or December as practically nothing came on the market round us! Finally found one and I am so glad there's no more viewings to organise! It's so frustrating! They want you to be in work - bviously so you can afford it - but most of them wont do viewings at times after 9-5!

I also spent a few days just driving round areas and noting down any signs we saw or visiting an area before asking for a viewing, one we booked in as it looked good, went for a drive round the day before and cancelled after seeing where it actually was!

Thanks. Can I ask what area this is?

One of my colleagues son is an estate agent (unfortunately his agency area is way above my budget), and I've been given a couple of tips and warnings which helps with preparation for viewing.

I tried to offer on my house without viewing it inside. EA forced me to go and see it.
