Thanks, phoned yesterday and had my 500 points added WITHOUT a quote. Guy who answeres call was fine about it, just said he would add them without a quote. Easy-peasy!!0

Phoned yesterday and got a cheaper quote than our renewal.
They asked if we wanted to take the insurance, but we declined and told them we were going to shop around.
The lady then said if we took it there and then she'd give us another 2000 points!!
Thats worth £80 in Virgin Holiday vouchers which we are currently saving.
2500 points and cheaper insurance, big result!
Thanks to original poster!!if i had known then what i know now0 -
Got straight through on 0113 number to switchboard (had to ask for Tesco's) and as soon as he heard my renewal wasn't til November he said "so you just want the points for now?" Took my clubcard details and gave me the points no problem.
Great!!0 -
I also did this.... though I do already have car insurance with them.
they still gave me the points !!!!!!!!
Brilliant
This must be costing them a fortune !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
tesco - saynoto0870 - the given number does work!
Note: phone quote is 15% more expensive than same quote online - and having obtained the former, you are not allowed then to ask for another quote online!
The online quote is very competitive (B & Bingley, cheapest for Yaris at £128) -Tesco £135 but excesses are excessive! (£300 vs £100)0 -
I got told I could have the 500 points, and Tesco are also giving 200 clubcard points if you ring up and ask for a health insurance quote on 0800 707 6633 (leaflets are in store). However, the person I spoke to insisted on going through the whole spiel of the quote, even though I told her straightaway that I was only ringing up to get the points, this rambled on for about 10 minutes but if you can stand that you'll get the points!!0

Ok I got the points for the car insurance and health insurance. In addition I bought my daughter a laptop (which had been reduced by £25.00 ) for her b/day from the tesco direct site via u shop u care who offer 5% cash back, the laptop came with a bonus of 999 points. And I paid with my tesco c/c.
In total.
Laptop cost: £ 399.97
Reduction of £25.00
Cashback £ 18.68
Total points today (for purchase with tesco c/c & car/health ins quote):
2538 equalling: £ 101.52 in deals
£ 145.20 - Not bad for a days work, so the Laptop was only really 254.77 with all the software.
Oh and oops got a free delivery code so another £5 save! :-)
Can not believe it - Timing is everything :-)!0 -
I called the Tesco and got 300 points, too
Wow!!!

My car insurance is due on 27 July. I dialled the 0113 no, got through to switchboard and asked for car insurance. Transferred me straight away, no waiting. Got a quote which was higher than my renewal from Sainsbury so declined the offer but made sure that I would still get my 500 points before hanging up. Five minutes later I got a phone call from the same guy, saying that he had just been told that if I accepted the quote before 8 o'clock tonight then he was able to give me 2000 Tesco points! By my calculations that's £80 of deals.T he scheme code he quoted was '3502'. Fantastic! Good luck.0 -
Just rang the number to get the 500 points for the car insurance as my ins expires end of August they cant give me a quote. He did give me a number to ring to get the points added to my account which is 029 20 44 37 94 all they asked for was my name and clubcard number and the points will be added ASAP.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
