(apologies for posting on a sticky, just thought its a very general question about the forum itself, not a particular housing issue). It's not difficult!

Hoping someone can help. My partner and I have exchanged contracts back in Feb which was due to complete in November. We are first time buyers using help to buy equity loan. Had a phone call from builder to say completion date has now been pushed back to April. We will be unable to get the help to buy equity loan from 1st April 2021 due to the changes to help to buy. Is anyone else in this position? We don’t know what to do!0

My partner & I are living together & the mortgage is in my name & is looking to buy in. The house is worth 200.000.00 can she give me half of it without me incurring any tax payments?0

Hi - looking for some impartial advice. Me and my partner (not married) are looking to buy a house for roughly £110k.
Her income is £29k and mine is £52k. We are both first time buyers. Does it make sense to purchase this first house solely in her name given the house is cheap enough for her to obtain a mortgage on her own? I would be transferring her my portion of the repayments.
This will allow me to retain my first-time buyers status, and reach the maximum amount in my help to buy ISA. In 3 to 4 years I would look to purchase a house in my name for ~£250k, and add my partner to the mortgage after the fact. This would give me the maximum government bonus of £3k on the ISA, as well as saving ~£2.5k on stamp duty.
My salary would likely be closer to £80k at that point so finding a mortgage shouldn't be a problem.
Any advice welcome!

Hi, hoping someone might be able to help me make sense of our situation. We are first time buyers and reserved our new build house in Feb, because of some issues we've had since then and Covid slowing things down we have only just exchanged contracts. We have been told estimated completion is 7th August, however the house is finished its had and passed its NHBC inspection so I dont really understand why we can't complete earlier
, can anyone shed some light?

Hello, wondering if anyone can advise...
I was wondering if it is possible for me to use part of a pension towards a house deposit?0 -
Hi. My partner is french and has lived with me and worked in the UK for 8 years. He would like to buy a house in France for under £100k -around 80k. He is a first time buyer. As he is paid in £ in the uk, he would like to get a mortgage in the uk, but it seems the minimum mortgage available for France is 100k.Has anyone managed to get a mortgage for France to buy a house for less than £100k? Can anyone advise?Thank you.0

Hi All,
I'm looking for clarification on stamp duty for the help to buy scheme.
If I'm buying a 'help to buy' property in London worth £600k, do I need to pay stamp duty for only the equity I own 60% (so only pay duty on £360k) or do I need to pay stamp duty for the full value of the property £600k?
Thanks,

Morning all.We are part way through Buying our house and now get the stamp duty taking off so will be paying £0.However, our solicitors are still going to be Charging us £144 fee for having to deal with the stamp duty. Would this be fair to do or should I question it?Many thanks in advance.0
