Great information and sorry if i've missed it somewhere, but wanted to ask is it worth while tidying up my direct debts?
I'm at the stage of starting to look at property and should be happy enough to start making offers in the next 3 months, but is it worth tiding up my direct debts to make my bank account look better? As in a direct debt for home insurance, pay it off in full now so it and others don't show on my account statement if that makes sense?

Along with removing all i can do without for a while?
  • Hey MoneySavingExpert Community,
could you give some tips (some relavant articles will be much appreciated) on how to increase the price of the house for sale by means of redecoration/ rennovation.Naturally I don't want to spend a fortune for that. Thank you in advance.
P.S. sorry for ansking here, couldn't find a way to open a new thread

  • Has anyone got a clue about the future of the housing market post Coronavirus? My daughter has moved to Australia and is renting over there but wants now to buy a house. To do this she will need to sell her little terraced house in Manchester which is currently let to students.
  • Luckily both my partner and I are in jobs which are still secure during this time. We are looking to buy a house and have a few mortgage offers, however, I am unsure if this is the best time to buy or if we should wait to see how the market reacts. Clearly, we can’t move anywhere in the immediate future! Any advice would be great. Thanks.
  • Hi, I would like some advice how to deal with our neighbours. Me and my parents over 50 have moved in to the council property in February 2019. We started to experience problems with our neighbours shortly after we moved in. We reported it to the council, and situation got worse. Our neighbours are constantly abusing us mentally. It’s unbearable, police was contacted many times but nothing is getting done. It’s getting to the point that my parents are scared to come out of the house. We recorded them and took pictures, police have many reports as well. We just don’t see the way out. We applied to move but it’s taking too long.
Is there any advice you can give us? What can we do?
    thank you
  • Newbie here, apologies if posting in wrong place or been posted before. Has anyone had any dealings with National residential via modern method of auction as a buyer? If winning bid, will need £2500 or 1% of selling price. They have said that this holding fee makes up part of mortgage deposit. I'm quite dubious about it. Has anyone any experience as a buyer? Thank you 😊

Where did all the old threads go? Have just come back after a bit of a break, but can only see 2 pages in the house buying forum now?
(apologies for posting on a sticky, just thought its a very general question about the forum itself, not a particular housing issue).
