  • I've done absolutely no cleaning or tidying today as I spent all day trying to get Kate Bush tickets and failed.:cry:.

I did go shopping though and went to Aldi, BM stores and Tesco. Bought some bargains but spent more than I should have.

I managed to get white vinegar. Does anyone know the best way to use it to get the musty smell out of fabric? Is it best to put it straight in the machine or soak and how much?

Oh it just gets better and better (not)

I CANNOT believe what's going on...

On a side note I have wine and have eaten and DD and I are watching Burlesque...

    I left work at 7pm

I must be (insert expletive of choice) mad!

  • Thanks Mrs-Moneypenny.

It's not so much not getting tickets it's the whole process of putting them in your basket - thinking you have them then being told sorry those tickets are no longer available. Over and over again. Then seeing despite restrictions tickets are being sold at ridiculous prices.

On a plus note. I'm literally flying tomorrow. Well not me I'm flying a bird - I'm going on a 1/2 day falconry course.

(Although they've cancelled once due to rain)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    My kitchen smells lovely!

I wiped down all surfaces with Flash with Febreeze ( a gift from a friend - lol).. I then added a little Lenor fabric conditioner to my homemade floor cleaner and gave the floor a quick mop.

    Smelling sweet.

  • Thank you for the posivibes. Been a mixed bag this week.....met with Consultant and Jaw Surgeon they are really pleased with my latest feasibility moulds and my teeth are now in optimum position for surgery AND bonus the amount of bone I have to re-grow is going to be reduced which is going to help speed up the recovery time (need to keep DD4 away from headbutting or fist hammering or other facial trauma for 2 months instead of 6....thankfully these are not traits she currently displays.....long may that continue).....so I am now officially on the waiting list, unofficially I am not likely to be operated on until at least July, so kept stumm about blood sugar and puppy issues figuring I have enough time to work through whatever is in the pipeline.

Came back to find letter from Puppy clinic, which I put to one side. Took the tribe to Morribunds and only remembered one lot of 4 week tokens as I actually got to checkout with one and half trolleys of shopping (I really cba to sort through and put stuff back) so very cross with myself meaning I will either loose my other £10 and petrol token, or I will have to stock up with more cleaning stuffs for utility.:(

Made the mistake of opening the letter from the Puppy clinic (just in case it was to change the date or something) family history questionnaire just knocked me sideways .....I still have one bag of shopping in the hallway to put away 4 days on, and the form isn't filled out, I just can't quite get pen to paper on it.

Blood sugar goalposts have been moved normal is now considered under 10.... it used to be under 7 .....my own BM reading before leaving the hospital was 12.3, the hospital official reading was 10.3, so I have been classed as borderline ....no treatment and review again in 12 months, which means with no tablets if I so much as look at a slice of bread my mouth will be all syrupy ...without bread as a cheap filler in my own food consumption food bill will go up.

So in bid to keep my blood in target range, I have joined DD2 in doing Cabbage Soup Diet for one week only to get off 3 or 4lb before I go to Puppy clinic. Today marks day 4 without ANY bread based product..... and I am miserable as sin.

Young Skints have all be fed, watered and bathed .....but I have a mountain of dirty washing to be scaled in the Utility. Kitchen has more vegetation in it than can fit in cupboards so looks cluttered and messy.....I haven't set foot in DR or LR since Tuesday so who knows what kind of warzone is in there.....each bedroom has a floordrobe and a mountain of teacups in. Both DD2 and DD3 are trying to keep a brave face on things but are just floating around the house too :(

DD2 has claimed her old room back from DS so he is back in my bed, he is too little to use the bunk beds in the Computer Room downstairs on his own. If I try and sneak away to get anything done he is instantly awake staggering after me.

Laptop got blue screen of death this afternoon, but through trial and error I *think* I managed to create an emergency back up before setting it back to factory settings (there is an emergency back up link on the desktop when it rebooted and I checked to make sure I asked it to save all my photo and document folder....but not quite sure how to 'unpack' them....this was always the EX's area of expertise so I might ask him to have a quick look just in case I end up doing something that looses them forever!)

Sorry for the long post, but there is some flying in there of sorts. Right, I am going to declutter the upstairs of teacups and maybe even get DW on the go :)
The cold never bothered me anyway

Vali - why are you working so late??? Hope whatever the reason, it stops soon
Auntie Sceb - sorry you didn't get tickets but the Falconry course sounds cool
Pigpen - I'd help if I was nearer, does OH pull his weight, hope things settle down and start to get better for you soon
Skint - no idea what puppy hosp is but fingefrs crossed it all settles down for you very soon

Managed to hoover upstairs too yesterday :] Won't share how long its been since that was done - looking after DH has taken its toll on the house front but its good to see him geting better and I'm now finding myself with time to do things :]
DH goes back to work on 9th April, exactly 8 months to the day since he went permanently ill, he's been ill longer that that but 8 months ago was when worked became too much!! He's looking forward to going back to work and they have been brilliant, we thought he had no holiday entitlement but actually he has about 100 hours due to him so he's going back on reduced hours and they will make up the difference to full time hours with this holiday accrued - saved our bacon :] :] Plus they were genuinely pleased to see him and were delighted he was going back so he's a happy bunny :]

Todays plans - Lottie for a couple of hours and then ironing :]

Hope today goes well for everyone

Oh crikey, skint, you are having a time of it (hugs)

DS has just come and snuggled in. DD playing in her room. He is coughing and sniffing but slept well.

Will do brekkie soon then we need to get dressed in our painting scruff. My mum isn't coming today, just stepdad (think they got 2 foster placements last night) so with no one to distract the littlies I'm sure they will want to "help" paint outside

    Better get up, I s'pose!

Edit: morning , Helen I think puppy clinic is breast clinic X

    Morning everyone

Have to go to a training session today - on a Saturday - bleugh. Wish I could just stay at home and potter about.

House was reasonably tidy but from DS and OH coming home last night to getting up this morning a bomb seems to have gone off.

    Hugs Skint.

Right, need to go and get a shower and make myself look presentable. Not sure what to wear to this thing today ..
