  • London, thank you so much.

I haven't been seen by occy health, I've asked for a referral 3 times, and my gp put it on my sick note, the one that has covered the summer holiday period, trying to chase it up. The hr policy says phased return is over 4 weeks, so I know I've got that time period in which to re adjust.

Thanks for the advice and clarifications.

    Creme egg brownies sound lovely.

Phased returns are normally an agreement between the manger and member of staff with input from HR. Normally start back one day a week and then gradually build it up over 12 weeks but your time seems a lot shorter. Each company is different though depending on the reasons for the period away from work.

From your comments occy health definitely need to be in the room, and it all should be confirmed in writing.

    Good luck

  • Thank you for posting, that's all really helpful. Going through my union rep to insist on an occy health referral.

  • I've had a great mse day.

    1) it's a no spend day

    2) when there wasn't the 'right sort of pasta' for the pasta bake I didn't go out and buy pasta and..... We just had a different sort of pasta, and nobody minded go me.

    3) have meal planned and shopping listed for next week. It should have been a cheap week, but we've now invited people over for a special meal tomorrow night (the shepherds pie I had planned, ingredients all from the house) just won't cut it. I'm currently defrosting the chicken, so don't have to buy meat. But I do need everything else, which won't be the cheapest, but it will be sooo worth it. I'm looking forward to having these guests round, they are really special people.

    4) I'm also planning on buying the ingredients I need to do my mass bake off this week, I'll make a start on some stuff tomorrow and just pop it in the freezer till Thursday so it's still fresh for them

Have cleaned the downstairs to within an inch of its life (bank hol tomorrow = no cleaner this week :( )
Have mopped the floors, and left the wine stranded until the floors have dried.

So now just chilling out to the proms.

Have a great bank holiday Monday.

I know, where has it gone?

I am looking forward to being back, but am anxious about the process of getting back, if that makes sense.

I know! It's gone so fast. And yes, that does make sense :)

  • Tonight we have had guests for dinner again, I love cooking, entertaining and having people round, our home socialising has been severely curtailed since all our friends had children.

Tonight's guest list was small, but perfectly formed...
    1) the girl friend of one of hubby's free lancer colleague. I don't know her very well, but have started to build up a friendship over the summer. We both end up being on our own a lot due to oh's work. So this was a big step both for me to invite her independently, and for her to come solo.
    2) the new lodger..
    3) another freelance techie, who is also the new boyfriend of the lodger, our world's are colliding.

Such a lovely evening, which makes up for the fact I completely blew the shopping budget this morning. It feels like I only purchased food for tonight's meal and baking ingredients for the boys to take with them at the end of the week, but. I don't care. It was worth it.

I can wholeheartedly reccommend James Martin's croissant butter pudding with chocolate & whiskey custard. It is amazing. I know I cooked it, but I can't resist singing it's praises. And still at least two portions left.

    Finally...

    THE BUILDERS START TOMORROW.......

Goodnight one and all.... Happy saving

Can't have been that good then...... or is that just my house :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oh Wish I absolutely hear you on the whole going back to work thing.

Well done for involving the union.

The one thing I do know is that it is never as bad as you imagine at 4am.
