... I was asleep before 10, and feel so much better for it.
School work up to date (to a point, remember, it's a job never truly completed)
Ynab updated and next month's budget set, I'm never going to get a month ahead at the rate I'm going, maybe i should just accept that fact and get back to overpaying the mortgage, what do you all think?
Hubby's work has fallen through, which means he's on loft decoration (he's bought another tub of paint & the varnish for the skirting boards), so he's going to get on with that tomorrow.
Ok, 9pm is an acceptable time to go to bed isn't it?
Why am I soooo tired and how on earth am I going to cope next week when I'm back at work full time, and then when I pick up all my management responsibilities?Mortgage outstanding: [STRIKE]£47,750 (August 2014)[/STRIKE] [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£46,950 (Nov 14)[STRIKE][/STRIKE] £44,900 (June 2015)

I'm finding it so hard to keep on top of things, and we're only in the fourth week of term
I'm also tired but trying to find time to relax on an evening. Make sure you're taking care of you x

Hi SF, so sorry to hear you are finding it hard, it's a long half term, but we are halfway there. At the moment I'm being well looked after, praise doesn't come easy to the senior leaders, but the deputy head is being really supportive. I think a lot of the challenges class teachers face are from leaders who forget the nuances of classroom teaching - and parents who find it difficult to understand our alien world.
This week the school improvement partner (we buy one in privately) visited for observations (I was thankfully excused) so our 2hour and 15 minute staff meeting was feedback. I took everything that was said as points for improvement for me, rather than remembering that I have already got some of the stuff mentioned nailed. My support session with the deputy head did help put some perspective on it all, especially as I wasn't observed. This past week has been baseline assessment week, so I now have a much better idea about what the children can and can't do.
Tomorrow is a day off, my last one, full time from Monday. I'm relieved I'm off tomorrow as we've had a family bereavement today and I'm still awake! So probably not going to be in a fit state in the morning.
Financially, things are still on track, trying to have low spend days and eking out the shopping until the new calendar month. Things aren't looking too bad at all and after the 1st of the month I can take out the Christmas savings and put it in a current account to start the Christmas pressie shopping. I could write the list this weekend, but I can't buy anything until I've found all the things I've already bought, which are in the pile to go up to the loft.
Think hubby and I are off carpet shopping tomorrow morning.... One step closer to getting my bedroom back.
Sleep well, and happy friday

So, you know when one job leads to another, which leads to another, which leads to....?
Well, the loft conversion led to needing a new hallway ceiling, which has led to hall, stairs & landing needing to be re plastered, which has led to hubby spending all day stripping the wall paper off said hall, stairs & landing. He is shattered poor thing. But it needs to be done.
I've stained the skirting boards in the loft, so now just need to touch up the paint work before the carpet fitters arrive on Friday afternoon. That means friday night and Saturday should be spent moving everything into the new loft office and reclaiming our bedroom.
Electrician is just getting back to us (cables need chasing in the hall stairs & landing, new light switch right by the front door & network cable up to the loft office) with a date to do the work. Plasterer booked, but start date still being sorted.
We are both shattered, I went to a charity cocktail evening last night £10 for pretty much as much as you could drink. Lovely evening with friends, and some new friends made.
Food shopping done today, less that £50 and some treats bought.
And now to bed, good night all

Hey Wish, that sounds like an active couple of days! What does your husband do? I travel loads for my job. Sometimes when I get back I just want to do nothing, not even unpack my suitcase. Other times I come back and look at the house and make a big list of things to do and crack on with them, with fresh eyes. At the moment when I get back I just hate the sitting room carpet and want a wood floor down but it's too expensive for now.
I started using YNAB after seeing you mention it. It's great! I'm a convert. Looking forward to putting my first proper pay cheque into it on Tuesday

Hi Worry,
Thanks for dropping by.
Hubby is an audio visual technician for events, concerts & gigs. He's a noise boy (sound engineer) at heart, but he's particularly skilled at camera/video & graphics work. He makes boring presentations look good on screen, switches between camera images & PowerPoint style presentations and deals with voting systems for conferences. But then on Saturday he's going to be wheeling a PA system round a shopping centre for a flash mob promotional thing. There is no glamour in his job....
I'm really impressed with what he's got done this week. Any more he gets done is a bonus & we'll pay the plasterer to finish the rest of the prep. I'm the list person, but I have to be careful not to present him with an actual list, or it just gets ignored or binned. We'd like a thin stair carpet with the carpet rods and the steps on show at either side, dread to think how much that is going to cost.... Is your front room a 'through room'? Ours isn't, so we went for carpet in there, nice and cosy on the toes. But the dining room, which you walk through to get to the kitchen & to the back yard is wood floor which suits much better.
Still loving YNAB think I may actually have to pay for it soon though, you def get a decent length trial, but it's ok because I have budgeted for it....
Went out for dinner this evening with my best friend from school (when we were school age, rather than being a teacher...) lovely meal, lovely company... And reasonably priced too....
Tomorrow is Monday and Monday is work... See you on the other side people..

My boyfriend is the same. He'd revolt if I gave him a list of tasks to do. I have to make my suggestions one thing at a time, when he's receptive.
AV technician is pretty cool. My fella works for a dj doing tech support, and he's basically ruined going to gigs for me, as now we have to stand in the correct spot for optimal audio quality, instead of standing where I have a vague chance of seeing anything. Once he pointed out the bad sound quality I could hear it too, but until then I'd been in ignorant bliss!Mortgage: [STRIKE]Apr 2014 £141, 415[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£137,491[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£128k [/STRIKE] Dec 2019 £81,6210 -
I know the ruined gig feeling Worry, I trained in audio production & worked as a record producer for a short while..........
No money news to report, bills day tomorrow, only 11 days trial left on ynab.... And the car needs filling up. So, today was a nsd. Tomorrow is not......

Are they programmed to do that on purpose? Incredibly annoying...
In other news. Bills gone out.
Mortgage interest credited, about £187.00 for a 30 day month, so I think my £190.00 in a 31 day target should be reached soon.
The monthly payment hasn't been credited yet, but I should be down to at least £47,250
Hubby has out plasterer deposit into my bank account, so will pay that tomorrow.
Other than direct debits and my fuel (1p over budget) I haven't spent anything today. Got a few bits to sort out tomorrow, but it could be a very low spend day...
Not quite plucked up the courage to purchase ynab yet, maybe a weekend job, still 10days of free trial left.
School is going well at the moment. Hopefully I can keep smiling until friday.Mortgage outstanding: [STRIKE]£47,750 (August 2014)[/STRIKE] [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£46,950 (Nov 14)[STRIKE][/STRIKE] £44,900 (June 2015)

It's nearly Friday and we've had a tough day at school. A lot of complaints from parents, some justified, some really not, but it all adds to a feeling of gloom that is descending around the building.
It's a NSD today, :j
And that is all. I need to start thinking about going to bed, but I don't have the energy to climb the stairs.
Night all
