Well I won her: sanctuary spa goodies, posh hand cream and a kindle.
I bought her this perfume she liked, but, if she doesn't want it then I'll have it
She told me not to buy her anything though!
Also, if anyone is on O2 - there's a free mothers day card with O2 priorities! :PDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
as a mum (who no longer has a mum) all I want is to see my grown up kids - but this is unlikely to happen as my daughter has young kids & I feel it's more important that she sends time with them, my middle son lives hundreds of miles away so that only leaves my eldest & it's my birthday a few days later so I will be celebrating with them thenproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I understand how these Mothers/Fathers day might be distressing for those who have lost their parents, but I also suspect that they would be the first people to tell you to cherish every moment we have with family members.
Remember, the most valuable thing you can ever spend is time.0 -

Mum in law is 89 now. She enjoys doing scratchcards, so that is what we have bought her. Hubby always has to check them though.0

I wasn't sure what to get my mum - I wanted to get something more than a bunch of flowers that dies after a week, and shes not a nick nacky person - so I thought, a plant - at least that will last a long time! So I went on the hunt for unusual plants (didn't want to be boring!)
My mum absolutely loves flowers that are yellow - so I thought she would like this plant -they are dubbed 'living stones' http://www.gardens4you.co.uk/index.php?/Cactus-Plants/Lithops-Living-Stone-Set-4-cacti&gclid=CKP2y_jlsr0CFXMPtAodVysA6w#.UzQkUhVFDIU I think its really unusual and quirky, where the flower comes from looks just like a stone... bizarre!
Since I ordered it I have actually started to worry she wont like it - so will have to see!!! lol one of those 'what was I thinking' moments I keep having lol
I have 6 children and nearly all of them have attended mothers day workshops after school this week to make something for sunday, so I am looking forward to seeing some nice creations handed to me on sundayApril 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0 -

My old mam passed many years ago but I will be praying for her, in church, on Sunday.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

I don't see my mum and my husband thinks it's a commercial holiday like Valentines Day and so won't get his mum anything either. That's also the reason I'm not getting anything from my little one courtesy of DH.
That is a shame.
If it is something you feel you would like your youngster to acknowledge, then perhaps it is something to discuss with your husband so that you do not feel a tinge of resentment on Mother's Day.
I would also add, it does not need to be a commercial issue - home-made in love can have much more meaning than a gift from the store.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help.
