I'm not sure how unidays work (I can't get it on AAT :( ) but I know that my mum got a student discount in store. She is a student but doesn't have a student card and they still gave it to her.

On the decluttering front, I have also done a little bit. Not that it looks like it :o

I'm going to try an Ali-OK type status report.

    Work
Started the year after three months in the job from hell. Well not actually the job, but the people. Note to self to find out if people are problems before accepting new jobs in future.

Middle of the year, escaped people from hell and found lovely job, with lovely people, but not enough hours and not secure. However confidence regained. :)

End of year, appointed to new permanent, friendly people, secure (well as jobs ever are these days) job to start in a couple of weeks. :D

Also DD and DH both have new jobs and DD finished her first year at new school ( no wonder it was stress city at our house this year).

    Weight and Fitness
Lost a stone in a month in carp job, put back on in happy job. Need to have another 1 month contract in carp job :rotfl: (not likely). Plan to start Pilates and fitness classes/running. Also my old beautician is round corner from new work - very handy for 2015.

    Financials
Major dental for one family member. No holiday this year but lots paid to debts. Reduced from £19k (approx)to £15k. £5k in savings/SF. Can't really think of any large expenses. We really reined it in while my hours were short. Christmas has been the biggest expense and whilst we have gone over board a little, this should be made up by new wage in a month or two at most (naughty I know but we will be back on track soon, honest). Oh yes, don't forget my new glasses - they are lovely.

    Major Disasters
Well apart from giving up a fantastic career for a carp job with nasty people, I did have a minor accident which needed up costing nothing - thank you kind person. I think the only other bad thing this year has been losing my lovely expensive bracelet. Well new job now sorted and Hopefully the insurance will sort my bracelet.

Not bad really then all round.

    Best Achievement
Surviving the year, paying the debts, not letting the stress make me ill(well I was never off ill), and being able to smile again (thank you all you guys who know who you are) xx

    Wish list for 2015:
    Finish setting up YNAB
    Mindfulness
    Pilates
Badminton - playing the racquet game
    Start running again
    Grown up hair do
Shabby chic all the bits of pine furniture I've bought
    Continue to declutter
Oh yes and finish my degree
Make some time to meet with friends that I want to meet (rather than meeting with the ones that demand my time)
Learn to roar - i.e. My biggest problem (eg with my carp job) is that I take a lot of carp and don't roar back. I need to learn when to roar back again - used to do it, not sure why I stopped.
make sure that when I look back on my life when I'm 80 that I'm happy with my choices. :A

Have a happy new year all xxxxx and thank you so much for your support. You have been and are amazing :T:T

    Nicely said SS :)

I have lost weight due to work-related stress previously and its a horrible sort of 'feeble' feeling. I didn't want to sit on a hard seat because my a*se was so boney :rotfl: !!! Don't get too uptight on weight matters - I am happiest when my belt is a little bit tight - its telling me all is OK :) !!

All the very best for the new year for you and family and much happiness in your new job :).

Happy New Year SS and what a great run down of 2014.

Here's to an amazing 2015 - everything in place - new job, Uni, debt busting - you're going to achieve great things this year.
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Thanks honeys.

I've done some decluttering - and there is now just once mince pie left to declutter - that is lined up for my breakfast :rotfl:

Tried to get on with my uni work but DD and DH under my feet a little, however its been nice and they are both working together on a project, which I hope is coming together nicely. I love it when a plan comes together...

House is feeling a bit more together now, still lots to do, but the decks are clearer for doing it. Am thinking of buying a second hand unit for the kitchen - it would be a couple of hours drive there and back plus £20, but I'm thinking of asking a neighbours son to pick it up for me when he sees his g/f. He's handy with his hands so could put it up as well probably. Going to have a think about that one, but it would be fab to get the glassware out of the lounge and back into the kitchen.

Right off to look around and then get myself a cuppa.
