  • I have to caveat this as being more superstitious than religious but I always promise the st Anthony collection box the price of a loaf of bread to return something lost. I then have to get my mum who despairs of my non attendance to deposit the money for me.

  • Thanks guys. The collection box will definitely be a recipient. You never know.

Just been tearing my hair out. I made the mistake of hurriedly putting some things on eBay and allowing them to start at 99p in error. Had the usual flood of emails, will I deliver when it's collection only, offering to end the auction early for me - no no no, why would I end the auction early for 99p less fees. Why would I deliver. Don't get me wrong I love my old stuff going onto someone who will use it, but I'd rather donate it to charity than for someone else to flog on at a profit. I've changed them to the correct prices now, but one ebayer is rather cross and has sent a flurry of emails more or less demanding that I sell it off the bay for less than my new starting bid price. Reminds me why I've stopping baying so much these days. Must get my gumtree account details out.

  • I find gumtree and the Fb selling pages just as bad. You offer something in fab condition, barely used, at less than a tenth of the original cost... and then someone tries to offer you £2 when it was only £5 to start off with. I would actually rather throw things away let alone give them to charity than give to these ungrateful timewasters.

As for the demanding person... tell them to do one ;)

Have never heard of St Anthony... *off to google* - and I was a CofE kid :o

Ali, could you use a small piece of wire? You could make a hook on the end of it?

It was the car I traded in nearly a year ago but they did do a thorough search for me and didn't find it sadly. :(

Never mind, when I'm debt free, I may treat myself to the nearest replacement I can find - it matched a set of earrings and necklace I have as well as being a sentimental item.

  • Ali, how frustrating. I had a look in the shops today and nothing will come close to my lost bracelet. But whereas before I would have let it eat me up, this time I am putting this into perspective and being practical. I was just listening about all those poor people who are losing their jobs over Christmas. I'm still upset though, just working very hard not to let it get to me. :)

Well I've done a bit more decluttering today and also cleaned all the windows and frames. Then got the paint out and did a little touching up. Funny how just a little bit of work makes such a difference.

Tomorrow is the dump, the charity shop. Hoovering. Cooking with DD. Shopping with Dd,. Oh and some homework !!

Loving your focus today and plans for tomorrow. :)

I need to get a move on and get more done - haven't even opened the jigsaw puzzle that I thought I would have plenty of spare time to do!

  • After Jelly sudocrem'ed a huge selection of her wall this morning, I too need to touch up the paintwork. Took it back down to yellow in places :( - all my decs are away, the house is spick & span. Am just here for some recipes and then a stew, a curry & some sliced lamb in gravy will be being prepped and frozen where possible. Hopefully I won't feel too shocking after tomorrow, but if a little prod and poke session takes it out of me for 3 days, who knows what surgery on it will do. Expecting the best and preparing for the worst :)

Your day and tomorrow sounds lovely. I love ticking things off! Such a list girl ;)
