Ovivo still has our money

Fred is out of pocket by £20. Yes, paypal or visa may pay him back but should that be their responsibility or should it be Ovivo's?
We know for certain that ONE of the two options was a fact. Either they were insolvent or they were solvent. In either case, taking Fred's £20 and not giving it back was wrong.
And doing the vanishing trick they have done is even worse. The CEO has even closed his own personal facebook.
Where is the subtle point here?pdoherty76 wrote: »That is good and, in fairness to ovivo, they did let everyone port out.
But I think Ovivo should be held responsible for what was clearly trading while insolvent.
If they were solvent then they should be refunding. They have just vanished and the accountant for the company has now taken his profile off linkedin. They have gone to ground without any mention of why they actually closed.
Stop talking to me like I am the idiot, it was this one point about insolvency I was asking about, nothing else.
When you have finished with your soapbox, can I use it for firewood?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Oh dear, the wild speculation is going off the scale, and why bother when it's of no use to most of us0

Do you take every statement within a conversation so literally, without maybe considering that there may be nuances like playing devils advocate?
Look at the title of the thread. The title I chose is "Ovivo still have our money."
Gee, judging by the title, do you not think I really believe they are solvent and me saying they weren't solvent was me simply illustrating the other option once people had questioned my OP.
Either you can't follow a simple logical argument, or you are trolling. Either way, I am not sure I should waste any more time on you.0 -

It isn't really speculation anymore.
The news today seems to be suggesting that Vodafone have deliberately restructured Cognatel so that small MVNOs with unusual price models aren't able to operate any more.
They have clearly stated themselves that they will only now accommodate MVNOs that improve their profits rather than threatening their retail contracts.
We all knew that would turn out to be what it was. Vodafone didn't become worth billions by being mugs.
It is a terrible shame actually. The networks have ran a price fixing cartel for decades and Ovivo was a threat to that.
I hope something is done legislation wise but no doubt Vodafone are big enough to kybosh that too.0 -

I am glad you edited out that first line with the vile personal attack.
I merely thought that you may have access to some other information and knew what you were talking about.
Thank you for clarifying.

So guys, I paid my money in December, used the SIM card til Weds evening, had £16 odd quid still on the SIM, can I get that back. I had a contract with OVIVO, they terminated it, not interested in 2ndy parties.
Can I get me money back and how do I go about it? I paid by bankers card....I think!0 -

If you used it since December then you could in theory do a chargeback because it is less than 120 days but, to be honest, I would say you got your £20 worth.
The people I am concerned about are those that paid in the last couple of weeks and aren't being given refunds by ovivo, despite never using the service.
Also note that in Ovivo's terms it did say that the cost of the sim was £20 and any credit applied to your account was "complimentary." They also had a clause saying that they could terminate any time without reason or notice.0 -
Ok, thank you for that PDoherty, will drop it now0
