I wasn't happy as that involves another credit check..
Does the number of credit checks done effect your credit worthiness?

Just that I suppose I'll have to get one to open a Lloyds Club account even though I've banked with Lloyds for years and have a large balance with them.

And I also want to open an account for HBOS credit card for free overseas withdrawals.
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Apparently a high amount of searches doesn't look good. Thankfully searches only stay on your credit file for 12 months, and I'm not looking to apply for any credit other than current accounts within the next year, so it shouldn't affect me too much.

I'm going to be using this Club Lloyds account as my main current account, and was hoping to get a credit card and/or overdraft with Lloyds in the future, so was worried that a high amount of credit searches may result in a CPD marker being placed on my account as soon as it's opened. I've just applied for an overdraft online of £100, and it says it has been referred and for me to call them. As it wasn't an instant decline, hopefully that marker hasn't been placed on my account.

(CPD is a marker that is put on Lloyds accounts to prevent any borrowing or credit products - according to Google)

I have 4 Vantage accounts and 1 Club Is there any point in keeping them with just £1 "in case" sometime in the future it may change again, or shall we assume that will be a long way off in the future and we may as well close the accounts in July as I don't want to just get 1.5%?

It's no effort for me to keep £1 Vantages, apart from keeping an eye on whether they start charging for them. So I intend to keep them all until something to switch to comes along. Tesco and Virgin should have current accounts later this year, though whether they will come with a juicy enough joining bonus remains to be seen.

Up to 24 months in some cases ( I have some on my CallCredit report from Jan/Feb 2013).

Without going back through this thread can someone tell me why I can't convert my Vantage account online, I get a message telling me to contact my branch?

I converted our joint account and my wife's Vantage account a while ago online, although come to think of it we ended up with her sole account under a separate profile which we are waiting to be merged..,,

It appears that if you already have one Club account in your profile you can't convert a second online even if one of the accounts is joint.

I have opened a new Club account as I have 2 Vantage accounts that I will keep for the next two months plus a joint Vantage.
Online banking will not allow me to convert the joint Vantage to Club.
If my wife logs in she is allowed to convert the joint account to Club. She has no other current accounts with Lloyds.

Many thanks for that noh, in the end I have just applied for another Classic account which I assume can be converted into a Club account online..??

Had Confirmation page saying "Thanks for applying for an account, once opened you can upgrade via internet banking, account number etc etc within 3 days"

However when I last did this for my OH I heard nothing and had to apply as new customer, and she ended up with two profiles..:(

Yes, Flexclusive saver issue 5. No limitations for deposits or withdrawals, no hoops. Just a plain simple savings account.

Don't forget the exclusive savings account that rewards loyalty, with its top rate of 1.7% payable after 15 years' continuous membership.

Or, if you have less than 2 years continuous membership, you can get access to a rate of 2.0%.

Nationwide, always rewarding customer loyalty :rotfl:

I'll be sad to empty those Vantage accounts on the 2nd of July, got quite fond of them over the years. But there is no way I'll leave any money in a 1.5% account. I have already started to shift some Vantage money into a Newcastle BHS account.

I am lucky to have a Nationwide account that pays 2%, and I'll use that from July onwards to drip-feed the remaining lot into the Newcastle.

I just wondered, do you know if you can open a Newcastle Home Saver AND a Newcastle Home Saver ISA - i.e two separate accounts?

Yes it is possible to have Newcastle Home Saver and ISA Home Saver in parallel.
