Is it possible to set up DD's from more than one external account with Tesco Internet saver. Like from Lloyds Plus (mine) and Lloyds Plus (my partners) into my Tesco IS ?
Yes. I have 4 on each of my Tesco accounts.

I don't think it's possible to have a DD on your partner's Lloyds Plus account funded by a Tesco account in your name.
I'm sure your linked accounts have to be in the same name.
But I stand to be corrected.

I don't think that's the case. After all, DD's are typically seen as a method of payment rather than means of personal transfers.
e.g. charity donations wouldn't be directed to an account in your own name.

The charity will collect donations from a named account - with a party to that account being the person who is supposed to be the donor to the charity.

The savings institution will have its own rules about from where it will collect DDs and that their account holder is also named on the paying account is going to be one of those.

but 1Tesc and 1PO would be the 2 required..

You can both open them up online relatively easy though. More hassle than trying to mess around with 2 tesco dds that may or may not work.

I was thinking to open the Post Office Internet Saver, which I presume is the one that uses DDs?

I see I need a linked account with a cheque book, is this to make the first deposit? And then I can set up a DD for deposits?

Will I then be able to add additional nominated accounts (like you can with Tesco) even if these accounts do not have a cheque book?

    EDIT:

After reading the full Ts & Cs, I cannot see that it says there that the original nominated account must have a cheque book.......so which version is correct?

I have just opened the Post Office Online Saver and it asks for a nominated account, which I gave as my Lloyds Club account, it then asks if you want to deposit by cheque or nominated bank transfer, I selected bank transfer and it then asked if I wanted to make regular transfers and then set up a DD.

I won't know if you can change anything until I get access to the account online.

Lloyds have made a mess of the simple process of transferring 2 DDs from existing a/c to my new Club a/c.

All seemed to well......at first! 2 newly transferred DDs nicely listed on new Club a/c and just became due. 2 payments both gone from a/c but NOT listed as DD on my statements!

Both listed as "PAY", and 1 is a 2 part life insurance (1DD but with same reference covering 2 life insurances for me & hubby) - they've only paid for one half, leaving my part of the life policy unpaid this month.

Lloyds branch don't understand what's happened, don't understand why my statements for the DDs say "PAY" - which also means I won't meet the 2 DD criteria for the Club a/c, and don't understand why only half the life insurances have been paid.

So far, head and brick wall spring to mind. There are many answers they could/should give and "don't know" isn't one of them. Oh well, a formal complaint will be in order if they are silent again tomorrow (like today).

Don't suppose anyone else has noticed their new DDs going out say "PAY"?
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

    Thanks Richchad!

New account now opened, £2 deposited and DD for £2 set up on my Club Lloyds. No mention of cheque books.

So I now have 2 DDs set up (I hope), Tesco and Post Office, how long before they should show up on my Lloyds account I wonder?

Enough money in the account to cover these, and £1500 cycled through it. Still need to register for Gross interest.

Once the DDs appear I will move £5k in from my Vantages.

    Have I covered everything?

Yesterday I set up my DDs from Tesco which already gets money from my 123 account. Happily enough when I was setting up one debit from one Tesco account a message popped up asking if I wanted to set up the same debit from all my accounts. Easy peasy stuff! I did ring to check that it had actually worked and was reassured that it had.

Meanwhile Lloyds are still trying to reconcile my two profiles! And a saver account magically appeared to have set up by them without any request from me. My £5,000 is in the account even though I can neither access nor see it yet. Will be fun if the problem goes on longer.
