Still no activation code for her account though...0 -
Got an activation code for OH's account a couple of days after opening. Received another activation code letter today, but where it says "Your activation code" it's blank. ??0

This means you could start dripfeeding in 500/month and after 10 months you'd have same amount as in a Lloyds or TSB account paying same interest. No need for any dd or transfer money in or out. You can also withdraw cash or not pay in a month subject to the interest rate going down to 2%.
Ive just opened one online tonight and popped the first 500 in. In a couple of years it would be possible to build up to 10-12k paying 3% with no limit on how much you could put in.
I have just spoken to Newcastle Customer Service and I mentioned this account and they said that the website is in the process of being updated so it isn't on there yet but both the ISA version of this account and the Easy Access version of this account have had their monthly deposit limit raised from £500/month to £1,250!
So in a year you can now get £15,000 into this account - I guess the raise is due to the change in ISA rules but she assured me it applied to both versions of the account which makes it a fantastic option imo as there are no hoops to jump through to get the 3% rate other than deposit at least £1 per month and up to £1,250, in as many deposits as you like and even if you miss a month or withdraw from the account in a month you still get 2%.
Link to the instant access version of the account and ISA version: http://www.newcastle.co.uk/savings/big-home-saver.aspx
Hope that info is of use to some on here.0 -

I don't think the ISA version is available to new customers any more as I can't find a link to open it.

Not sure why this is in the Club Lloyds thread but there is nothing about £1,250 on the link you provided. What is provided is the link to open the ISA. All very confusing.0 -

The reason I included the info in the Lloyds thread is because earlier in the thread this account formed part of the discussion with regards to the new Lloyds Club account so I thought it relevant to those who have been following the thread from the start.Archi_Bald wrote: »but there is nothing about £1,250 on the link you provided.

The link opens to both the ISA and the Instant Access versions of the account.0 -

Lloyds seem to be a bit weird with who they give a contactless card. They are exactly the same with their credit cards.
Anyone can call up and opt in though.0 -
It can come from absolutely anywhere.
I went to open a club account today, I asked if the £1500 a month could be funded from my Lloyds Gold Account. I was told no, it had to be "fresh money"
Has anyone been able to move money across from another Lloyds account without any problems?
Sorry, the above quote was in response to a question "could the £1500 come from a Lloyds savings account0 -

They would love it to be new money but they are talking utter tosh. Yes it can come from your Gold account.
A large proportion of people on here have a revolving sum moving between different accounts (and banks) on a monthly standing order and ending up right back where it started. :T
EDIT: When me and the missus set up six vantage accounts in branch a couple of years ago the branch manager asked me how I was planning on funding the accounts each month. I politely told him that was my concern not his but that it would happen! If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -
When I queried this at the bank I was told that you could do an inter transfer with Vantage but not with Club.
I can see that I will have to have a little discussion with then tomorrow when I finalise the paper work0
