I have requested porting to 3, but so far I that appears it has only partially been completed.
If I ring out with the new 3 sim card, it displays my original Ovivo number to the receiving phones.
If some one rings me on the original Ovivo number, the phone that has the original ovivo sim rings.
When I removed the original Ovivo sim from the phone & left the new 3 partly ported sim in a phone,& I ring the original Ovivo number, it comes as " number is not recognised."
Also my3 online a/c, wont recognise using the original 3 number or the ported ovivo number.
Has any one else experienced anything like this?
same here......3 know about problems and hope to have it sorted by tomorrow0 -

I think "it depends"... I did the same, took an old Three SIM from a drawer and put it in my Nexus. It worked and on their MyThree portal it said that the tariff was "Three PAYG" - so I called them to verify exactly which tariff that was. They confirmed it was the 3-2-1.
Log on to MyThree - if you do so using 3G, you won't have to enter any password etc. - and check your tariff there.0 -

My port happened successfully yesterday although it took quite some time before everything was working correctly.
My son and I applied for our PACs on Wednesday evening (the day they shut down) and I found our PACs using the online form on Thursday evening (both the same which was a little disconcerting but fairly common I realised when I read the threads here and on HUKD) - to date neither of us have received an email from Ovivo with our PACs so I am very grateful for one of the people on HUKD who posted the link to the PAC retrieval form.
On Thursday I went to Tesco and picked up 2 pay monthly SIMs on the £7.50 per month tariff for 12 months (250 minutes, 5000 texts, 500MB + 250MB family perk) - this tariff now appears to have been withdrawn. I requested a port on Thursday evening and the earliest date was yesterday (Tuesday 25th).
The port yesterday eventually completed for both of us around 5.30pm - we had various stages of being able to receive calls on the Tesco SIMs and then not and no texts being received on either phone for a while. From fairly early on I could send texts from my Tesco SIM with my Ovivo number attached so I knew that the PAC was at least valid. A flurry of text messages came through around 3pm even though most of them had been sent a couple of hours earlier. The last thing to complete was the voicemail. I rang my son's number and left a voicemail but he got no notification and when he rang voicemail was told there were no messages. He rebooted the phone and I tried again and hey presto it all worked, he got voicemail notification and could retrieve the message.
Anyway, so long Ovivo and thanks for all the fish! My son had 12 months use and I had 6 months for £15 each - slightly annoyed that I hadn't done a Sport Relief donation before Wednesday but I really can't grumble. Data speeds are much faster with Tesco so perhaps Ovivo did us a favour - even if not a money saving one!0 -
It looks like it was vodafone that pulled the plug on Ovivo due to payments being withheld

So, I stand by my previous point. Ovivo did not go bust and should still have the money that people recently gave them. Where is that money?0 -

I agree - that's the best comparision site I've seen.

Very clear and very detailed. Thanks to both of you.:p0 -
I just couldn't wait any longer for the White Mobile sim to arrive - I ordered a week ago but still no sim in the post today. I guess they just couldn't cope with the huge wave of requests. I asked around to see if there was any way to buy a White Mobile sim, but no one stocks it.
So I've just ported my family out to Three 3 2 1. Not a bad deal considering the free data every time you top up by £5.
But White mobile's free calls within network and free voicemail would have suited us better. Yes, I know there are other mobile providers like GG that do this, but they charge silly prices for out of network calls, texts and data, whereas White's were very reasonable.
Shame they couldn't cope with all the demand - they've just wasted a big opportunity take on lots more customers.0 -

Have you considered Delight mobile?
Their key selling point is that they allow free Delight to Delight calls without ever having to top up. And, as I understand it, you can buy the SIMs in Poundland.0 -

You can get one free: http://www.delightmobile.co.uk/View/offers/Free-Calls-And-Texts.aspx unless you want a nano one which will cost £1.0 -
Delight would be really useful if you have a dual sim phone, but we don't and we do use the phones for other calls as well. Delight charges far too much for calls to landlines and other networks and the data is 9p per MB!0
