I applied to switch to EE (via CheapEnergyClub) almost 4 weeks ago, and I have not had any communication from them as of yet. Is this standard. I was hoping to be pretty much almost switched now as the harsher colder weather is arriving to save on my gas, as well as get a nice windfall from EDF before Christmas.

Is it usual for it to take this long before even getting a welcome letter?

    Hi adenewton,

You should have received a confirmation of contract email with your T&Cs and some meter reading reminder emails by now. It's worth checking your junk mailbox on your email account as sometimes they can go straight to junkmail. If they are not there please email me your full name and account details at blogresponse@extraenergy.com and I'll pick this up tomorrow when I'm back in the office.

    Thanks,

    Attiya.

I'm thinking of doing this myself. Not sure how this would work since nobody has got a bill how on earth would they issue a final bill? That would be your first and you final bill all rolled into one.
  • EE should be taking their first DD from my AC tomorrow, I hope they take but I would not be surprised if they don’t hahaha,

I must say EE have scared the pants of all the other energy suppliers over the last 10 months or so loo0l
there are some nice new duel fuel deals out there, I will not name them but ...

    gas standing charge/usage cost
    20.86 / 3.390
    or
    13.91 / 3.211

    Electric standing charge/usage cost
    15.64 / 10.64
    or
    13.91 /11.39

I've never known people complain about not getting a bill before , surely that's good news, maybe EE just don't want paying. Very nice of them I must say ;)

As with all providers best to make sure your DD is on the low side, and that you owe them slightly and don't build up a big credit. Much more to your advantage this way. Don't worry they'll soon be in touch when they want more money.

If you take a meter reading each month then you know yourself whether you are paying too much or too little. Sometimes in life we have to be proactive.

    Thanks :(

I don't suppose anyone has asked Santander why they don't do so?

    Regards
    Sunil

Replying to a 3 month old post here, but I asked Santander via secure messaging a couple of weeks ago and got a very vague reply. However, logging into my Santander 123 account tonight I have been credited with 2% cashback for my ExtraEnergy payment.

Quite relieved as it is something I hadn't thought about until after I initiated the switch.

Always add 5% for VAT of course :)

Yippee, I have now held onto my money for longer than I did last time.

Submitted meter reading 29th June and received bill on 8th August (paid same day). Time taken to submit bill 40 days.

Submitted meter reading 29th Sept and still not received bill. Time elapsed 45 days.

So this time around I've had my money in my bank account for an additional 5 days and still counting.

    Thank you ExtraEnergy.:j

p.s. for you newcomers who aren't aware, I am on the "Payment on Bill" method which means I pay a slightly higher daily standing charge (not a lot more) and pay for my electricity every 3 months and that way I avoid DDs and all the hassle that goes with them i.e. paying to much or too little and the struggle to get any credit refunded.

p.p.s and for the record I did contact the EE Rep (Attiya) about two weeks ago and ask when I could expect my bill and apart from confirming that my email had been received I've heard diddly squat since.
