Why would the Energy Helpline rate EE 5 stars for service rating when seems to be plenty complaints if you read into what's written online

Because they (Energy Helpline) don't come on this forum and see the reality of the overall service they provide.

If the 5 star rating was based solely on the speed of EE answering calls, then no argument from me but looking at their overall performance and service, I'd say 2 stars!
  • After my "rant" and the reply from Attiya, I forwarded all the correspondence to her and she then telephoned me. There have been technical problems with their emails and she has re-sent my contract and details of my D.D which I never received. She is personally dealing with my disputed meter reading and all should be resolved in the next 48 hours. She has assured me that she is taking personal care of me. Well done Attiya it was a shame we got off to a bad start albeit that you have had "technical problems", I hope that your Colleagues prove to be a diligent as you in the future.......

I "switched" to ExtraEnergy from nPower in August. I have had a final bill and received a rebate from nPower based on an estimated reading, but have had nothing other than a welcome e-mail from ExtraEnergy despite e-mailing them last week. Electric still working though lol.

All sorted now thanks to Attiya. Never got a reply from customercare@extraenergy.com but received a speedy phone call after i used blogresponse@extraenergy.com as advised on this thread.

Turns out i'd inadvertently blocked the e-mail address in outlook! :o
  • Just going through the sign-up process, prices are good, but the switching has been a very protracted one.

Was with EDF, and initiated the switch of both supplies way back in March 2014, still not had the gas switch completed yet, latest from EDF is it will be from the 19th Oct. but final figures still being waited for.

Some apparent dispute about information on the National Database !

Also been unfortunate to have had my gas meter changed as a rolling programme, but their meter reading submission section can't handle readings lower than the previous one, should prove interesting.

I suspect that switching to Extraenergy is probably not the easiest for a first time switcher, apart from that all the appliances appear to be working . Best to just keep an eye on things and make sure that you keep a record of chats and e-mail.
    Good Luck

Good thinking and it may avoid losing some customers at the end of their current terms if the deal on offer was sweet enough.

Think about it as a golden carrot with which to entice the long suffering guinea pigs (that's us) who have put up with EE's promises of better things to come!:):):)

p.s. Hey molerat, just read Attiya's response and if you do get a good deal let us know.

Just a pity that she didn't want it discussed on the forum.:(

Hi all, I have just taken the plunge and signed up for 12 months on v3.
My contract with Eon runs out on 25th Oct and so it looks like they will put me on a higher tariff until the switch takes effect in five weeks.

    Spot on yesItowacaravan.

Once your current deal runs out and unless you tell us differently, we'll automatically switch you to our standard plan.

There's no exit fees on our standard plan so your switch will go through without penalty.

    Hi Malc

Would you like to come on here in late August 2015 with details of EON's best deals, when quite a few of us will be looking to switch from Extra Energy?;)
