  • I've been with them for a while due to the price. It's not worth it for the sake of a few quid! I know my exact consumption for the last 3 years. You apply- set a monthly amount and then hey presto - you receive an e-mail the next month or so telling you the D/D has gone up! ( I send in monthly meter readings!). You then have to phone them up to reset your payment to a reasonable one, they will send you a nice e-mail telling you what you agreed on the phone and then hey presto - not long after, the process is repeated all over again. This has happened to me many times. If you are overpaying, the website will not allow you to reduce the monthly premium. Last year I was told the £100+ credit I had in my dual fuel account would be credited back to my bank account when my old contract ended - THEY LIED! If you are not constantly on the phone they will have £100's of your money. I can't wait to escape them!!!
  • I agree with PJ93 - DON'T.
I signed up Sept 2014 and they reduced my DD by about £7 per month - best price available. I never received an updated bill until until months afterwards despite posting meter readings. They then increased the DD giving no reason why to more than I paid to my previous supplier. Needless to say I switched supplier at the end of my contract and was told they owed me £270. That was end of Sept 2015. It has taken me 4 and a half months to get my refund despite numerous phone calls and emails and empty promises. Finally got my refund today!!! Steer clear - they are pathetic!

Im so glad i saw this thread. Im currently with First Utility, and my contract will end this month. This company is coming up as tops for price, and it looks like there are some serious customer service issues. For a shorter period, First Utility are in second place. I think i will simply take out another contract with them, wooooooooooooow
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

Could I just ask if anyone at all has had a good experience with this company?

    I was perfectly happy.

They were the cheapest. I estimated on the low side (essential with monthly DDs), so I owed them when I finished, rather than the other way round. Found someone cheaper this year, job done.

Whilst there are a lot of complaints on this forum, that's all you get on most suppliers' threads, so I took no notice.

Didn't have any real problems. I have not had a final bill from September but I engineered it to leave at just about £0 - they owe me 19p but I can wait for that.

I have had no problems either - but then I haven't needed to contact them so far! I only get electricity from them (have gas from Zog, who are super wonderful) and I think that seems to be the trick to a problem free experience.

All my bills have disappeared from my account history and I am now showing as £651 in credit. They must be ready to produce my final bill - from September. I wonder what surprises it will hold when and if it appears. Luckily I know exactly where I stand so they will not be able to confuse or rip me off.

And now they are all back again and £181.22 in credit. Still no final bill though.
