I'm dreading dealing with this given all these stories. I'm 6 months in, and already paid double what I've used since Christmas through a direct debit that I can't get them to lower. I'm really tempted to cancel the direct debit, but need to find out what the consequences will be (I may be taking out a loan for home improvements soon, black marks on the credit file won't be good).
I wouldn't care about the situation if I were in credit, but finding a way to get them to reduce the DD by over half is not fun.
Email EE asking for your 6 monthly bill, follow up with a phone call to get a tasting of their lies.
Once you dont get a reply within 10 days and no bill which will be escalated many times over to Tom,!!!!!! & Harry you then have grounds to make a complaint and request that EE reduce your DD to an amount you feel comfy with. When EE mess this part up I would cancel the DD, email EE with the reasons why and put the onus back on them to do their jobs properly. You will get a snotty automated email asking for DD to be setup, they will also threaten to charge you £12 if EE have to contact you. Again, send another email to EE using the varying addresses listed on this forum saying that they are in breach of contract.

There are 2 options, as you have been with them for 6 months speak to them and insist they lower the DD and give you an estimate of your usage and costing over the phone - have meter readings ready.
OR
Switch now, get cashback from this MS Club, and as soon as your new supplier asks for a meter reading cancel the DD.Holding back the years...0 -

i see no improvement in the past 6 weeks or so since i last checked in here?
has anyone had any response at all if they've tried the ben.jones email?
i switched 27.04.15, finally got a standard response email from them 16.06.15 advising final bill within 2 weeks, but no mention of the exit fees that i'd specifically queried so i emailed them back.
no bill & no further reply, impossible to get through on the phone so i've just emailed again, customer.care & ben.jones email, see if that gets any response...
i really hope that people who are waiting until closer to their fix ending 30.09.15 haven't got to wait as long as all of us who left months ago for their accounts to be sorted, this thread will still have the same posts this time next year at this rate!0 -
I've just put my meter readings into my spreadsheet (and on the site) and reckon I am in credit by £20 or so. I plan to close my dd before the September 1 payment and write to explain why, so I reckon I'll not be much in credit by the time I leave and as previously said, I'll enjoy the fight!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

I have been battling for over 4 months for my refund since leaving, still no end in sight, awful company, they just keep on fobbing you off and never reply to emails.0

I got a bill!
oct 2014 - jan 2015. Seems my payments over the winter left me £85 short of my usage
So despite being £574 in credit over the summer months they are now upping the direct debit by £20 a month
lovely!
Also estimated, despite readings provided0 -
Does Money saving expert have any idea what they have put us through. I see no refs. to the absyml service on the mse site. Come on Martin get stuck in there. Next stop can be "Watchdog.0

Afly, object!
I have done it twice successfully. First time I telephoned and told them the increase was unreasonable. Second time, they used my "assumed usage for the next twelve months", so I wrote to them (Signed for) at both their trading and registered addresses alleging breach (since they cannot raise my payment for a contract we have not entered into, ie for supply after 30th - or possibly 20th - September 2015).
Both times my payment was reduced to what was nearer sensible.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

- Suppliers will be required to notify customers that their current fixed-term is coming to an end between 42 and 49 days before the contract ends.
- Between this notification period and the end of the fixed term contract, suppliers will be banned from charging a termination fee should the customer decide to switch
