It has been quiet this week!

Madness at paid stuff but all finished now. And no plans for next 2 days, just me and DD so we might do some gardening. We've used some of their birthday and Christmas money to buy a new playhouse - they fell in love with the one at my friends place last year, one of those with a little balcony floor inside. Very cute. So we have some sweeping to do on the top patio and a bit of prep work before it arrives next week.

Am a bit behind on laundry too, so hoping on two counts it will be a dry day...

Payday tomorrow so some shifting and juggling to do, plus buy some €s for our holidays :D. Hmm. Might shop around now for a good deal...

Aww thanks for the kind words everyone, it really means a lot. However, it was a disaster.

They gave DS a litre of this special liquid to drink which we knew he was going to struggle with. He managed a bit of it then it started to give him stomach cramps and make him feel sick. The nurse came back and told him he had to drink more and he got really really upset. The more worked up he got the more ill he felt and we were on course for a full blown panic attack.

It took him over an hour to drink half of the stuff (sobbing and shaking) - then he threw up and brought it all back anyway. They put him on the scanner but it was useless, they couldnt see anything.

I have just e-mailed the Consultant but have no idea what happens next.

So thats my day really!! I feel exhausted, think it will be an early night. Hugs all x

Hugs YS, so sorry it wasn't a good day for you and your DS. Maybe the Consultant will be able to come up with an idea on how he can drink more fluid, for when your DS has another scan. Although I do think that the nurse should have been a bit more sympathetic, she could obviously see your son struggling so could have worded it a bit better etc.

I've not been around much this week as I am back on school run with my niece". Still it gets me out plus it means I also make more of an effort to do housework etc... Plus DH is home and he is doing bits and bobs around the house too. :D

Tomorrow I've got my "niece" with us for the day as her school is shut. So we are having a crafty morning, then in the afternoon we are going to bake a cake. Then on Friday there is a family meal celebrating the official adoption of my "niece", plus on Sunday my "great nephew" is having his first birthay party. Blimey after all that I will need a rest next week before school runs...lol

Sorry to hear about your DS's difficulties at the hospital, Yorkshirelass. It must be very hard for you all. (((Hugs)))

DH and I drove over to the next town to collect the wall cabinet and doors for the utility this morning, so that took a couple of hours out of our day. Meanwhile the carpenter boxed in some pipes.

After lunch I went out to the U3A family history group and then did a huge shop, finally getting home just before 6.00 pm to find the house in even worse chaos than it had been before. Carpenter had put up the cabinet and changed some of the doors, but DH's painting things were still all over the utility sink unit, still unwashed after 2 days, and the floor was filthy. I have spent much of the evening on my hands and knees, cleaning it. DH is definitely not :A today!!!

Yes, FBO, I know I was meant to leave the floor until next week, but if you'd seen it you would know why I couldn't leave it alone.

I did manage to pot up some petunia plugs and bare-root phlox while the oven chips were cooking, by the intermittent glow of the security light (on...off.....on...off..on..off....................on etc). This must be a record - the phlox only arrived at midday :D Pretty purples and pink/white to help fill the empty borders :) but I haven't done any weeding today.

Must go and check the WM for leaks round the pipes that I've reconnected.

    Sleep well, everyone.
  • Morning all - can't believe I am up first!!

Sorry it didn't go well YLass - hugs to you and DS.

Can barely move this morning after three lots of gardening yesterday!!! Unable to kneel down to weed - as no space and still sodden - so using muscles wrongly that haven't been used for years!!! It will pass I know - but ouch!

Today have to balance finances as been borrowing from other places, buy flowers for crem visit later today and make double cb hash for tonight's meal.

Yesterday night was lovely - went out with neighbours for chicken night at W****spoons then back for an apple and pear crumble I had rustled up in a spare half hour yesterday. We don't usually do pudds so it was yum!!!

After that - depending on weather I will hit Mon- Thurs lists. Have done bathroom apart from the floor but all the rest is still to do as well as HHI and another wash load.

Think I'll be busy! - but think you must all be too as it is unusually quiet on the thread this week.

Hope you are all OK? xx
