Thanks for the hugs and good wishes, its been an awful week and you lot have certainly made me feel better.
Valli, good news about the job - and the blood pressure!
Fizz, ouch, that sounds really nasty. Cant come up with any helpful suggestions - alcohol maybe?? Through a straw?? Might numb the pain if nothing else.
Where has the good weather gone? Not only is it wet but cold here today too. Doggie refused to go for a walk so we played fetch inside instead. His little face grinning as he waits for me to roll the ball always cheers me up.
Not much flying done, will have to catch up at the weekend. Not a disaster though.
Oh and my boy used to be horrendous for the amount of stuff he had in his bed. He used to have one of those high sleepers too so changing his sheets was hard enough!
Hugs bossy. I can relate to the running away and leaving them to it though, think we all feel a bit like that at times.
Right, need to make a shopping list for tomorrow. Roll on the weekend.0 -
Kazwookie, it is worth noting despite having hand held devices, meter readers can and often do get Economy 7 and Economy 10 meter readings muddled up. This can often happen when historic incorrect stickers are left inside the cabinet/around the meter (eg Rate 1 00.00 to 07.00 etc, when in fact on that meter Rate 2 is the Eco 7 rate)
Even if someone comes and realises the mistake, they put the night and day rates the same way they were shown on the last visit as they know that if you suddenly get a bill for extra hundreds or in some case thousands of pounds, they are going to be in for a grilling. Hence why fuming people are seen in the newspapers producing bills with unbelievable figures on them, as the computer systems then calculate the correct figures.
I used to have Economy 7 while working for the big 6 and the Northern lot refused to believe their meter readers had been getting it wrong for 2 years until I actually send them a video of the meter moving on the day rate that they had been billing on Eco 7....when they did sort it £800 back pay was overdue, so I whacked on the plastic so I could switch to my then employers Eco 7 scheme, but the same thing happened again with them, so I switched to cheapest regional supplier instead (for me is the French one)
Sadly the big 6 won't do a meter change to a single rate meter just to put you on a single rate, they just add both the figures together then bill you, but then you potentially have a different problem as if the meter reader only takes one reading you are woefully undercharged you are then faced with a big back payment if you want to switch.
The only way I forced a meter change was to take The French ones Eco 20:20 tarriff which gives me 20% off 10pm to 7am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, but that is a one way ticket as you cannot change to any other supplier with an Eco 20:20 meter until the French Co transfers you back to either a Eco7 or Standard rate meter.
For me, at this moment it works, cos I do hammer the electric for WM, TD and DW....but it's not for everyone.
Best thing you can do to check if your meter reader has been doing job properly is to check your last bill against the meter, stick the kettle or the oven on for a few minutes while you go to the meter so you can clearly see the day time rate moving.
68% night-time usage is better than I do on 9 hours a night and weekends, so I would seriously look at the meter readings because you don't have electric heating.
HTHThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Not much flying to report, done the hoovering downstairs again today as it became a pit, dusted electricals, polished glass door panes and mirror, then took DS to hospital for his eyes (we now have to do patching) and that took me out of spoons for the day.
Tomorrow I have my Annual Glucose Tolerance Test, which although I am not pregnant, I believe I am going to fail in spectacular fashion. Results are due back Monday afternoon in time for my appointment with Jaw Surgeon Tuesday lunchtime.......all sticks and tranquiliser darts for BD gratefully accepted.
Need to get rubbish out for dustbin day tomorrow, but in two minds to get up early and do it
N'night, good flyfolks!The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Sk5 , thank you, I read m y meter weekly and put the reading on line, I have done for about the last 3 years, so I know roughly what we use each week.
Us is OH and me, plus 1 cat! so what is annoying me is according to noe's web site we are using more elec / gas than similar houses in the area!, bearing in mind we are both out at work all day, and 'generally' in bed by 10 / 10.30pm and everything is switched off at the wall at night, with the exception of the bed side alarm. Every thing else is on a time clock.
I don't have storage heaters.
I did get a letter saying when they installed a new meters it was the wrong way round, and I would not be charged, so why when putitng in the readings did I use £160 for the same sort of readings, I WANT that money beck.
I have also asked for the best quote / new tariff and they so far have given me 3 different best answers for the same info...........so even they don't seem to know what is best.
I like most people work very hard for my money, and I don't see why I should be £160 our of pocket and they won't even agree that...........
Any way work done
rain here as well
Moss killer seems to be working
Hugs all round, sorry to go on, about elect and gas, but I am annoyed........Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Big (((hugs))) for you Bossy. I hesitate to ask this, but are you coming up to an anniversary date? I hate seeing you get this tense, and I realise it might just be that you feel a bit worn down, but to quote a meerkat 'I's worries about you.'

Morning,
Thanks honeybear no nothing like that :A It's just been a hectic few weeks, DS is constantly pushing and I'm just worn out with it all. On the plus side, I laid the law down this morning and gave him a chart. Worked a treat - no messing so we had time to play. On the walk to school this morning we had a chat. I said it's been good this morning, when we are helpful and nice we have time to play. He agreed. It's a good start.
Sunny but chilly here. Going paint shopping later this morning and taking the vac upstairs...

Thanks for that Bossy, I'm was reassured until you said you were going paint shopping. When you start painting I know you're struggling.
Back to the chalet today to deal with the dehumidifier and if the weather's kind, some grot. OH has said he will help with the spring cleaning over there the first week in April and it would be really lovely if we could start the season with everything inside and out done and dusted. It's a lot to do on my own, although I have gradually been stripping out quite a lot of 'stuff' which makes life easier.Better is good enough.0 -
