I doubt you'll hear from them any time soon, they'll pretend to sell you to capquest, who may hound you for the money, and then they might try court, but not much hope of winning

It's sickening and I am struggling to switch off from it all and it is stressing me out, even though I feel I am in the right.

They bought my loan for cheap. It's a joke that students weren't offered a settlement fee before selling them to a DCA. I am in my right to be deferred but I am being treated like sc*m.

I experience similar stress too. Sometimes, my motivation to fix the situation overwhelms my rationalisation that my case has been made, and is on the record. Of course "the record" is seldom read in its entirety.
I feel the need to get cameras fitted on the house for the debt collectors, and to brief my friends.
Perspective and support are important. Social justice groups exist which take interest in this kind of thing, but it doesn't really relieve the stress of the people being victimised to know that someone is hanging a banner on an empty office somewhere.

This is how companies like this profiteer, hound and scare people into handing over money, so long as you have kept to your side of the contract, CarVal Investor's threats are nothing to worry about.

Got to say Erudio seem like complete muppets. My wife's deferment was up in May, then they sent a notice of default in June and arrears letter too.

Last week they sent her a deferment pack!?

Just been speaking to another person Erudio were trying to screw, and there is definitely some ground/noise to be made on accounts deemed in 'arrears'. It seems that the very mention of the ombudsman concerning an account deemed in arrears triggered Erudio to offer a very reduced settlement rate to get the person off their books/out of their hair. I will hopefully know more in the future, but anyone with an account deemed in 'arrears' should contact erudio immediately and ask them to clarify what they mean by 'arrears', why your specific account is in arrears, and then get the answer sent to you in written form.
From what i can gather, it seems that people who made partial payments to the student loans company in the past, in full agreement with SLC, have been deemed by erudio to be in arrears for the shortfall in those reduced payments. The very disputing of such a case has led to a rather dramatic reply by one of Erudio's senior telephone handlers.

Nothing from me. No response yet to my last letter regarding the termination of my loans. Post has come and gone for today as well.

An interesting HOL debate here on (mainly new) student loans. They do discuss mortgage style loans too, and Gavan Conlon of London Economics basically accused us of being duplicitous liars who would claim to have an income of £20k for deferment and then claim an income of £50k when applying for a mortgage. No evidence supplied of course, but this explains somewhat the desire by Erudio to extort consent for data sharing and the utter contempt with which they treat us.
