I'm concerned about the child care element being taken into.account too. As this also is associated with the childcare of the children and in general the parent does.not.even see the money.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0

@gardenia101
You're right they don't count DLA! well at least they say they don't! Just read their rules. Sorry to panic you.
Thanks Pluthero - still think your post may turn out to be prophetic though & they'll try & include it. Or am I too cynical :rotfl:rizla_king wrote: »I'm concerned about the child care element being taken into.account too. Dizzybuff, the above FOI should answer the CM question clearly (as in it will just deal with CM/other maintenance alone & not lump the info in with general income used IYSWIM?)
I hadn't considered the childcare element of WTC as I don't have to pay for childcare anymore. I can't remember what figures for WTC I used to complete on the old SLC form (& Fermi's post 1523 doesn't show the entire benefits box on the old form & not sure if its posted elsewhere) when I did pay childcare - I was always well under the threshold since the SLC didn't count CM, so I'm not sure if I took off the childcare element or not. I never sent any TC paperwork to the SLC (& they never requested it from me), just filled in my figures.
Sadly I've only kept my statements & deferral agreement letters from the SLC, not copies of my DAFS (as I never thought I'd need them again).
I think it stinks if Erudio are allowed to include the childcare element. If you gave up work & relied solely on benefits, then you'd be deferred (eventually :rotfl:) & GBPLC would miss out on your income taxes/NI - surely not what was envisioned when student loans were originally created?
IMHO it would be some much easier for everyone if students loans were dealt with in the same way that income tax/TC are - CM not counted, child benefit not counted etc.And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
Can anyone remember what we had to report regarding savings income when dealing with the SLC?
I have a note I scribbled on a statement during a phone call that says I didn't have to include the income from a savings bond that was maturing 6 months after my deferral date; I deferred in the May & the bond matured in the November. I was told that receiving that extra income in that 1 month out of 12 didn't matter, it was only interest received regularly every month that counted, or irregular interest received in the month before deferment & the 3 months after.
Looking at Erudio's DAF they want you to include all the interest received annually (as 1/12 of this total), which reads to me that they could be counting income that you haven't yet received, & possibly won't for several months.
Is this correct, or am I being a bit thick again....And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -

....My ex has threatened to stop the maintanance as erudio payment is1/3 of the money he gives to the children....
My ex is possibly even more cross than I am about this & has said he'll think about not paying CM into my account, but straight into the children's accounts which I'm not a joint signatory on. But I do have the card for the account.
I trust my ex not to stop paying CM but wondering if there are any reasons why he couldn't do this - anyone have any thoughts?
We have a voluntary CM agreement & have never dealt with the CSA/CMS. Our consent order in our divorce paperwork sates he'll pay £X CM on a monthly basis to me, so might that cause a problem?
It sounds like I'm trying to be devious & hide money, which I'm not, but if the threshold is going to mysteriously drop each year then I want to make sure that this CM is protected for our kids & not showing up as MY income on a bank statement. And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -

The childcare element covers 80% of my childcare. When the universal credit comes in its gonna cause even more hassle. That element I don't see considering my childcare is 706 a month.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0

That doesn't sound so good then - if SLC didn't differentiate & included the childcare element I'm sure Erudio will say they can continue to do so.
No matter how wrong it is morally.
Is the childcare element of WTC counted as income for any other benefits? And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
The last two years I haven't had a problem with SLC. Deferring I have no idea why I can't defer again. If I had known I'd have never have taken this loan out.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0
