This is from the SLC form regards other income.

    Thanks Fermi.

I think I left the maintenance box blank on my form each year, but included a letter from my ex confirming it was solely CM, & a covering letter to SLC saying why I'd not included it.

What do you think about the timing of income interest received though - the old form doesn't clarify whether to include 1 off interest payments?

Did you ever get anything other than the DAF & statement? I don't ever remember receiving any kind of how to complete the form booklet; just an additional sheet of paper with some limited guidance.

Since I became partially sighted the SLC could never get my deferment pack out on time & always took 1 d/d out of my account (which was my flag to chase them up for the missing paperwork that was always "still being processed as large print documents always take longer"). They always deferred me & always refunded the d/d taken promptly, even though my deferment period had ended & I hadn't renewed my deferment. They accepted that the delay was their fault so my 12 month deferment period started at least 3 weeks after my previous period ended. Just wondering if I'd missed any further info from them?
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

The last two years I haven't had a problem with SLC. Deferring I have no idea why I can't defer again. If I had known I'd have never have taken this loan out.

Did you include your CM as income on the old SLC DAF?

You shouldn't have to mention any interest due to you later in the year. Your bond isn't due to mature until 6 months after deferment.

When applying for deferment, we have to provide evidence of income for the "relevant" month, which is the month preceding deferment application, and we also have to state that our income in the next 3 months (immediately following deferment date) isn't likely to be above the threshold. And your bond doesn't mature until 6 months later.

I'm sure they can't start including DLA. They're not meant to include disability benefits. I used to receive Severe Disablement Allowance and never had to include that.

Yes it is income in the next 3 months that is the only thing relevant. :)

  • im sorry if this has already been answered but what if those like me havent received any paperwork from erudio even when calling to request the damn deferment form and still not having received one since the beginning of the year, what if we just ignore them until they can do their work lawfully? they keep calling me as iv always got missed calls from them but they arent sending me any papework, when i do call them they just advise that stuff has been sent out and should have been received and that i am now in arrears! as we do not have any kind of agreement between us n erudio surely they then cant do anything? or am i wrong.. im so confused..
  • I would start an official compliant with them about it. Contact the Financial Ombudsman and ask them to approach Erudio on your behalf, citing all the problems you have had already.
  • The only way I managed to get a deferment form out of them was by an official complaint after they took money out of my bank. They claimed to have sent 2 other copies of them - but this wasn't backed up by the people on the phone. I've still not a satisfactory answer from them about why they didn't notify me that they were taking a DD from my account and how they worked the amount out. I think they are ignoring that part of my complaint.

DuB-RooTz, don't bother dealing with them by phone (and if you do speak to them ensure you record every call with them). Write by recorded post requesting the forms (make sure you note in the letter that you have now requested the forms repeatedly by telephone). Point out that you have not been able to apply for deferment because they have failed (despite repeated requests by you) to send you your deferment application form. There are some blank forms on this thread that you can use. Do you know your customer reference number? Include that on the deferment form. I'm guessing you might have it on their arrears letter?

I wouldn’t hang about to find out. The reason why they haven’t sent you an application form could be because you have loans with other service providers. Do you have loans with either HSL or Thesis? If so give one of them a call and ask them for an application form. If one is sent out and Erudios loans are not listed on it, send back the form anyway with a covering letter that you are a shared borrower and you want your Erudio loans deferred as well.

You also want to look into the arrears. Don’t accept anything said to you over the phone, there could be more going on than you think. Lock down your deferment date. The date on the NOA could have changed for various reasons including backlog clearing. Did you even receive a NOA? Also check with your bank, do you have a direct debit set up with ESL? When did it become active? On what date does it say payments are to be collected every month? Was Erudio in a position to take money from your account but decided not to when your deferment date had passed? Has a DD been cancelled recently and who did the cancelling, you or Erudio?

These are just some of the questions you might want to ask to get a clearer picture. Sarebear78's advice also makes sense at this point.

Cm has not been included as the voluntary agreement was not in place till Nov last year. Will do an email tonight as I have been offline trying to sort other personal issues. I'm extremely anxious about this now. Especially ad they stated they would confirm that thwre was no arrears in a letter. The arrears are their fault as they cancelled dd and failed to send a form on time.I reduce to do a statement of earnings I will propose an amount without filling it in. They have no right to know what I have coming in and out. Full stop.
