Hi Shelbi, have been reading, not commenting so much but had to tell you i have been inspired to looking at Dave Ramsey after you mentioned him and as usual (OCD in me) have been listening to him every night. It makes sense what he says and I particularly like the way he gives ideas to show children by example (not that I have been a good example) but now we have our DGS living with us I want to show him a better way as well as get out of debt myself. I do find it strange that you need $1000 or £600 (approx) savings but it seems to work so I am going to give it a go and have the spectacular amount of £5.86 saved onward and upward, oh yes have just gone to cash for clothes and got £15 so that will go into it. Just wanted to say thank you and sorry for rambling, might start my own diary and can ramble there to myself lol, good luck for the week ahead

Ok so ive been MIA the last couple of days, lots of socialising and time spent helping friends, has actually been quite nice...always good to feel useful...right now I feel like im gotwired night out last night to celebrate my Aunts 40th, im not much of a raver now days but gave it my best shot....& managed to make it till the end..strolled in at 6am (wasnt pleased about this but am happy to report that i have found a alcohol substitue...red bull! cheaper alternative and kept me two stepping away all night... no hang overs & no giant bar bill.....lovely! Ok I did have a glass of champagne, vodka & orange and wine but these were mostly at home before we left (rude not too)..I dont really drink soft drinks so the red bull gave me wings...good news is now ive found a replacement that will keep me jolly too...hen night expenses should be alot cheaper...this makes me happy...cash saved more to cc2.

Opps sorry hit post...that last message was ramblings. too little sleep & too much caffine sorry:o

Pay day has arrived but am unable to make large payments until my money transfers to other accounts....opened a few accounts a while ago for the free money so have to wait for the cash flow where it needs too.

Have received £6.15 from qui$co & after reading nannytoomany post on £600/$1000 i figured will draw down emergency fund to that level exactly rather than £800 odd i ha....still Murphy repellent...so made a payment on cc2 for £225 today...on the 2nd of July can make some more. need to update budget & signature. Have moved monthly rent payment to another account to make sure i dont go overboard with payments too cc2 and dip into it...so far have earned £20.99p on ebay, hoping for some more bids.

Will have a nsd today & tomorrow...will also be in for the rest of the weekend I think...Have a wonderful day guys x

Thank you Shelbi for your lovely welcome.

Well done for sticking to redbull and having a cheap fun night out.

Dave Ramsay does make a lot of sense and I guess with the emergency fund It's handy to have a bit of ready cash. I always used to think of a spare credit card as an emergency fund but you can't pay for everything with one of those ie, rent/mortgage. Well like he says it's all just common sense.

I'll have to look into cash for clothes Nanny to many thanks for that, bit cross with myself for just haven taken some to the tip recently, I just wanted some space

MinnyMoo, you don't get much but it all helps, I have always taken my stuff to the charity shop but I took loads to there too so don't feel too guilty.
