    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning Happy Saturday Everyone,

Payday had arrived:j So happy for that! Thankfully didnt go overdrawn so was very grateful for that, yesterday I wrote my tithe cheque, paid the shopping contri, rent (wk1), car tax (6mths), ccc2 (min payment, Xmas show tickets. lotto (mthly dd) and went out with work to celebrate a lovely colleagues birthday, budgeted £20 spent £10:) very grateful for this, will pay over to credit card today. Still need to pay a few more bills and dds before I be sure of exactly what im left with to pay, doing it a little different this month, will make debt payments throughout the month to keep me motivated and be sure that I have something in the bank, really didn't like the feeling of worrying if ill go over drawn. So yeah thats where im at, going to be watching my budget very closely this month to make sure I can pay over as much as I can at the end.

Am setting a target for October to make an extra £155 (£5pd) this month (income excluding basic salary) set it low as this month is a tightish month. Looking forward to this Autumn, nights get darker and so much easier to say no and opt for nights in, perfect for saving money.;) Usual general frugal living this month as best I can. Have a wonderful blessed day all...x

  • Great work Shelbi! I'm liking the idea if paying down debt throughout the month, I've been a little restless waiting for payday to make any payments. Might be more fun to do something everyweek!
  • Hi Shelbi. I'm checking in before I head off to decluttering land.

You are sounding so positive and I love your plans for the month. I will be popping in a bit more (studying permitting) because I need to be frugal this month too to make the most of paying stuff off.

Have a lovely weekend. Well done !:T

Thanks belleandthebudget & Supersaver1000 for the encouragement :):) xx

This weekend was indeed frugal until I took part in my marathon walk Sunday night...managed to complete it, knocking off a 2014 goal but also managed to damage my knee, getting home was sheer agony, everything ached and walking down the stairs after was the most pain id ever come across todate, I knew then I couldnt hobble to the train station and get home so exhausted and in agony I hailed a cab...£28  but on this occasion was a lifesaver...that was yesterday and this morning Ive had to call in sick, as Im stiff as a board and my knee hurts every time I try to walk on it, Im hoping it'll be better tomorrow...but on the plus side, I completed it!!:j and it showed me that no matter how much pain Im in I will get things done...My dad messaged me at around 22miles, i was in absolute agony and I told him im in pain and its tough, he replied I know but so are you! at that point I knew that I really am and im finishing this course even if I have to crawl my way to the end. Im sharing this because I realised thats how I feel about sorting my life and finances out, Its tough but so am I, so are we all, everyone reading this is facing a challenge, you get to a smaller figure something else may pop up...but we can do it, we are doing it!! I said to myself on those last worst miles if I can finish this in this state I can do anything...I now have the medal to prove I can (and a dodgy back and knee to boot:rotfl:). I AM clearing this debt up, I AM going to get my own home and I WILL become mortgage free too...and I dont care how tough it gets because whatever gets thrown at me I will be tougher...Its really not like It cant be done because were doing it, whether were paying pennies off or pounds or just not spending, were doing it:j:j:j

have transfered another £20 to cc2, will be cutting down on remaing expenses in the budget to absorb the £28....im so sorry if this post is ramblely and makes little sense I blame exhaustion and really nifty pain killlers :D:D:D...

    Love Shelbi Debtfreegonnabe!!! ;)

  • Oh Shelbi, so sorry to hear about your knee. I have hypermobile joints so often twist/sprain them and like you say it's just agony until the inflammation goes down. Hope you're treating your knee to lots of ice and elevation!

LOVE the positive attitude. It's tough sometimes but that's just what we all need to get through those times and power on!
  • Thanks Shelbi, that's just the pep talk I needed. I am tough too, we are a tough buck aren't we and we will make it. :T:T

Sor sorry about your aches and strains. The body is amazing at healing, but is now telling you in wants a rest. I bought a fab knee support from pound land last year and it really warmed up and supported my knee - I wish I could send it to you. If you have one around please put it on, or maybe an elastic bandage, leggings, stretch Jeans , anything to give a little support. I hope you get better soon.

    Ss x

Ps a great big well done for completing it - you are incredible!

    Hi Belle & SS1000 :hello::hello:

Ladies Thank you so very very much, my knee is feeling so much better, just a little sore now, bit stiff but 100 times better, youre so right supersaver1000 the body heals fast, thankfully. I did as you both advised, knee support up and iced, inflammation has gone down I even ventured into work today, though I left the bike at home, will do the same tomorrow but it feels a million times better, thank you lovely ladies..I really appreciate it!!

Reading back on my rant yesterday :o but 100% stick too it, we are tough and were about to kick debts behind:j:j Positive attiutdes all the way, today I had a lazy day, took it easy at work so tomorrow will do double, had a spend day today had to get refill on contact lenses, though I shopped around rather than just refilling my perscription paid off as I saved £5 on same product with new supplier and also earned £3.50 from quidco on top :j:j happy!! also paid £201.78 to cc2. Still spacing out my payments, have decided to do Sober October this month starting tomorrow, but will be using savings for cc2 and keep costs down, its actually my birthday month so no drinking will be a challenge, Ive decided my present to myself this year other than a clean liver is to completely clear cc2_party__party_- £2500 in 31days...will need to use some of Octobers pay cheque but cc2 WILL BE CLEARED by the end of October and my birthday...my 32nd year will not include the usual celebrations but best of all it wont include anymore credit card debt either. Have been listening to the Secret again, Dave Ramsey pod cast as usual & anything that will motivate me to achieve this goal & keep my PMA up...cant really think of anything else that happened today...gonna head off to bed was supposed to be a quick update and mostly to say thank you for your support ladies, you really do make this journey so much easier..thank you:T...im going to get some sleep but will catch up properly tomorrow and pop on diaries to see how everyone else is doing...hope you all had a wonderful evening...night all x
