Just having a quick read to see when i last updated to...So easy to get lost when your not checking in everyday...Well I guess for me I finally hit the straw that broke the camels back. Today my father called to tell me that he was in the hospital to get his leg seen to would i mind picking him up (never a problem) then an hour later i get another call to say can i pick him up hes seen the nurse, she made him sit in the wrong place so he missed the doctor, someone else got seen before him so hes leaving:angry:..I told him to stay put see the doc and call me when hes done...knowing this stubborn man I drived down there anyway to make sure he stays put and gets seen. Too late his left, ordered a cab, gone home, got my mother to payfor it...all without seeing the doctor. In the mean time I have my mother moaning at me about being brasic, my brother hasnt repaid the money he owes her, and shes had to shell out for a cab & the stubborn goat didnt even see the doctor:wall::wall::wall::wall: Honestly anyone would think that they're all my children the way that act, not a ounce of common sense between them (I mean this with love but arggggghhh!)...sorry had to get that out, I love them to bit but Ive come to the conclusion they need to sort their own crap out...I mean how can I look after them when they cant even be bothered to take care of themselves....hell im sucking at the moment to take care of myself...anyway that was it so £3 wasted on parking, petrol wasted and my last piece of patience spent...I love them with all my heart but ive had it! Im not responsible for their lives or problems theyre all adults, i cant keep playing this fixer role especially when my own life is such a mess...its almost comical...like the blind leading the blind... sorry for that rant I just had to get that out before I explode. I have no life, no kids I literally go to work, help keep my parents family and problem shoot...im done living like this.
Its not there fault of course but they are not helping...so realisation today...or confirmation rather that i need to get out of debt and rebuild my life again..will continue update on another post this one tainted with negativity and annoyance...(sorry about that):rotfl::rotfl:

Ok crazy adams family aside, Ive managed a NSD, updated my signiture, paying the minimum balance £101.00 on cc2 and a further 90.40 to take it to £4300, other £450.25 of payment so far is for Debt 3 which will be taken on the 7th but included it in my figures anyway...darn didnt have nsd remembered I put £10 onto the electric. My Tithing thing has gone well, i sat there and donated £84 to various charities/causes, actually felt quite nice...so £139 left to donate...I know what you maybe thinking charity starts at home, but to be honest I know it will be squandered. gave my darling mother £30 last weekend as she was feeling down about the moeny situation (she bought chinese, bottle of wine with it) not to say its my business what she does with it its a gift but if your so hard up how you going to waste it on chinese?! Though i guess it did lift her mood so could argue it was worth it. Anyway my tithes are to help people who need it, foodbanks and stuff.

Omg i forgot to say the church down the end of the road runs financial peace university, so happy with this am definitely going to sign up am taking my folks along with me..They could do with it just as much asI can.

Waiting for money transfers before I can make any more payments though have £40 cash to bank, which I will do tomorrow. Sunday will do some ebay listings...debt payment this month is kind of low need to get that back up! I need to get serious again, real seriousand speed up this snow ball.

Spoken to housing about housing, like sitting in the dessert waiting for rain...no disrespect to anyone who works in this sector but the people Ive been dealing with are really inefficient. I submitted paperwork ages ago, they still haven't processed it...keeping everything crossed that someone looks at it soon...I live in hope.

Hmm what else oh I won £25 on the lottery which was such a lovely suprprise, donated another 2.50 to food bank & another £1 as i only lost 1/4lb this week and my targets 1lb per week so a £1 gets donated if i dont hit my mark....at least some good comes out of it...going to be a bit stricker this week I want a healthy loss next week...which means healthy eating...dont know how thats going to fair though as i have a date tomorrow and saturday night (lord help me)..I know this doesnt work in correlation with my debt busting scheme, but what can I say I dont exactly always want to be alone ...so i thought id get back out there, at least have to try:o ...like I said im trying to rebuild my life...ha have just spied a bottle of perfume which I love but I love cold hard cash more...its getting ebayed! every little helps..kind of nervous but excited at the same time...Into August this will be a good month (I know it).. have come to realise no one owes you anything in life, if I want something im going to have to take actions to get it sorted myself, no complaining (well not much)...im responsible for me...liberating and terrifying at the same time, but sod it.... I got this!!

Wow you've been a busy bee.

It's hard being the only 'adult'. The only way is to retrain them. Remember super nanny - she had some good techniques. :rotfl:

Your charity donations sound great and it's lovely to be able to help your family.

    Stay strong Shelbi. :T

    Thanks Supersaver1000:beer:

So quick checkin before I head out, aiming for a frugal one today, lunch made (frozen veggies & fruit) biking it, rent payment transferred, and feeling alot better today than yesterday....spied my hen night fancy dress outfit earlier, yup you go it it onto fleabay its going...cant wait for Sunday to list it all.

Only social occasion I have is my monthly meeting with friend and her dh, we settled on nandos as it SW friendly (also budget friendly) but think thats a happy coinicidence. Oh and my friends wedding...her gift choice is a donation to their honey moon, anybody know how much is a respectable amount? do i just gift them the equivalent cost of a toaster? any help would be greatly appreciated:D

Ok I best get going, going to cycle in and i need to leave on time tonight so i best get going. Have a frugal & fun day everyone.

Ps. Emergency fund fully topped back up...going to try and keep it that way:)

Hi Nannytomany!! I know its been to long, will be popping over to yours (page) to have a good catch up on what ive missed. Aww Im so happy your keeping on with the baby steps...I know how it is I dipped into mine myself...but hey thats what its there for...Sounds like August will be a busy one! I find C£rd Fact$ry do some lovely bits for special birthdays...darn cheap too..cute cups, glasses keys with ages on...Life begins to get even more fun definitely have to celebrate! Love birthdays!!

Thank you its frustrating but on the plus side when im sorted ill be of more use, besides once im sorted i can be of more help (thats my theory) may even inspire them to clean up their act too (I live in hope)...things can only get better :)

You know I found it by sheer flook, I drove past the church and was looking for somewhere to tithe, then logged onto the churches website and there it was in the courses section...nearly fell off my chair, had been looking for uk one on daves site but no luck, was tempted to buy the onlinecourse when his store had a 50%sale, but they didnt offer international shipping, good job really.

I cant remember where your based hun... If youre ever in london you should come along. I can send you the church link?. Id say best way to do it would be to look up webpages of local churches and see if they run it...if not ill find out when the next course is (havent been yet attending tomorrow to enquire about dates etc) you're always welcome to come along with me :) ..gotta run promised kid sis id take her park & im late (as usual) speak to you later...have a wonderful Saturday x

Afternoon everyone, quick catch up...So i managed to attend church it was lovely, they were very kind & welcoming, unfortunately no financial peace university running at the moment & theyre unsure when the pastor will be teaching it...will continue to check just in case (really hope its soon). In other news I didnt upload anything to ebay, spent the evening with my cousin having a couple of bottles of wine & a pizza (both of which were in my cupboard/freezer. Guess I should wait till next weekend or perhaps upload toght. Have made a payment to cc2 for £256, which takes it under the 4k mark...looking at the figures still have a way to go. Did manage to phone the housing, they said theyd call me back with an update & called and cancelled cc1, removing the temptation of ordering a new card for the one I shredded....well thats about all I have to report, hope your all enjoying this wonderful Monday x

    Good Morning MSE land!!

Happy to report I found a thread on how much to give for wedding gift on here...I love that fellow MSEs discuss so many different topics, its helped me out loads, I will be going for £20-£30 (depending how much I have left in my account in 2weeks. Dates were a disaster though did make me thankful im single....still im back out there and im sure the right one will be along shortly. Still haven't uploaded bits to ebay...im really slacking. Have paid £16.51 to cc2 this morning. My uncle called yesterday to tell me that my iou money is waiting for me to collect. Another £100, will try get there today after work pick it up.

    Tasks today:

    1) Pick up IOU money so I can bank it tomorrow
    2) call Orange and see about new handset (for free with luck)
    3) upload bits to ebay
    4) Figure out how to change spare phone back to English settings so can clear it and sell it.
    5) unblock blocked bank account so I can access money :o
    6) have a happy fun and frugal day:D- (NSD)
    7) clean out the fridge, take stock& make meal plan for the next 7 days.

    Seems pretty do-able to me..

Okay I best get up go make lunch & get ready for work...

wishing you all a wonderful and happy Tuesday x

    Evening MSEs

The past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster, all in all I learned that you cant be strong all the time & Im blessed with the bestest boss (really understanding, caring woman) and some good friends, couldnt even tell you why im all toppsey turvy all I know is that I felt like I was losing the plot & the world was collapsing in on me, I can write this now as im feeling better but thats how it felt...maybe im having a mid life crisis...or a break down...possibly a break through?! I dont know what I do know is sometime a good cry and someone to listen to your problems (no matter how trivial) is the best medicine...so now im back to fighting form, lets get with the updates...

Received a message from Uncle to use the £100 and itll be repaid on a later date...cool I can wait, still paid £100 of my money onto cc2 as I said I would. My phone died, so instead of £90 trade in will be more like £20 but hey at least thats something, teach me to act sooner rather than later...so will post that off Monday. Did manage to change language on spare phone (one brought for sis birthday but was left and unused as not an I phone) so now I will use this as my new one (saved me £140 buying a new one pay as you go) also called orange woman there tried to make me upgrade to a £20pm with a silly large payment for the smart phone up front...surely she must know upgrade means a better deal, not more expensive..anyway this way I will use the spare phone until I find a reasonable phone deal, also flirting with the idea of pay as you go at the moment....I think it needs more thought hate the idea of being tied in for 2 years..plus seeing how much you pay to talk to people over the contract...half tempted to get myself a carrier pigeon...or learn morse code :)...

Did however manage a NSD!! yay...Finally!!! looking at my signature my aim this month is too bring that £21,439.75 down to £20,999 at least...Not sure where im finding this excess money but that is the goal...right going to end my ramblings there as its late...night x

    Hi Shelby

Glad you are feeling a bit better now. Sorry you've been down, but yayy to lovely bosses and friends.

You are making some huge changes - family, debt, charity, weight loss. It's all a lot and sometimes things get too much - be kind to yourself, if it was someone else you'd understand (I'm not sure why we are harder on ourselves).

I also think we put loads of energy into being MSE as we want to be debt free as quick as possible, but then time stops us in our tracks and there's nothing much we can do until the end of the month comes again, or the eBay sales come in etc. it's so frustrating, but we are heading in the right direction and need to try and be patient while still being motivated. It's soooo hard. But remember you are doing so well and think how we will feel when our debt has gone.

Well done for breaking the 21 barrier. I'll look forward to seeing the 20s gone soon. :T
