Until I was 10 we had a redcurrant bush in the garden - I remember liking those. We moved and the next house didn't have one.

I *think* I have some other currant plants already well (probably over) established in the garden. Hopefully some other colour than white!

Should really try to work out whether they're ornamental or going to provide something I can ingest...

Red, black, pink, yellow, and white currents you can eat.

(There are really only two types of currents; Red and Black. All the others are varieties of Red currents).

The cost of getting there/parking/getting back .... I could almost buy one :)

    I don't live there.

PN, don't know where you live. If it is in the P area, then that's the only one with a fax. However it's worth checking your local library if not in that area, just in case (should have info online save a visit). We have faxes in all our libraries up here.

I love Aldi. I've defected from the other supermarkets. There are some branded products I insist on using - all cleaning products, because they work better.

One of my co-workers told me they buy the Aldi kitchen cleaner and make it up half and half in a spray bottle with white vinegar as a brilliant and cheap as chips Viakal alternative. Haven't tried myself, but they swear by it.

I can't exercise. Christ, staying awake at a red light is sometimes a challenge.

I've stopped radiotherapy for 2 days. Gimme a chance! In another few days my burns should be as bad as they'll get and then they'll start going down. In about 2 weeks from now the inside of my mouth should have no burns so I can go back to a healthy diet which is also what I enjoy eating: I hate eating stuff made in a factory generally.

You don't just get over this stuff in a day or two. I need to give myself time to get over it both physically and mentally. The surgeon told me that it would take 12-18 months for me to recover fully from the surgery. I have the radiotherapy to get over on top of that.

Sorry Gen. To us you are superman and invincible. I know it's a long battle but it's hard to imagine you like that as you are such a stalwart. I don't like this you facing kryptonite stuff.

We have a white currant. I find guessing when they are ripe tricky.

But they are nice. I find currants prettier than they are tasty. Though I think I finally 'got' blackcurrants this week actually when RP had finished my marmalade ( I don't have it often but was saving this, not RP's fault had been there a while) so I had a bit of RP's blackcurrants jam as everything else 'mine' was a bit too insipid, and it hit the spot quite well.

We used to go to a restarant that did amazing lemon posset with blackcurrants on the top, and the chef always left them off for me. I love lemon posset, so tangy that your gums roll up. Add black currant gloop on top and IMO its nasty, your gums roll up AND your tooth roots ache. Not nice.

It's easy to know when white currents are ripe.

When white currents aren't ripe, they're on the bush.
When they are ripe, they're in the bird.
That's the easy way to tell :)

Edit: Okay, okay, they go a kind of translucent white... it's kind of hard to explain, but just keep watching them and you'll see what I mean.

No, not moving there. That's where I thought I'd move to, but it didn't happen in the end. I'm somewhere else :)

This is the first time in my life I've ever (potentially) needed a fax .... so as I've found a way to not need one now I can do without one for the rest of my life now :)

It's all a faff... with randoms seeing your business....

    Good luck on that:p

I find it amazing every year... just when you think you're about to get some of them the sky goes dark, there's an ominous flapping sound that gets nearer and nearer, and the bush is stripped of every single last fruit faster than you can say 'locusts'.

I should be out and filling up the car, but CBA. Got lots of things to do in the next couple of days, so I won't be about on here much/at all.

Thankfully spotted it before it was sent...

Had to send email to bosses at work today about the popularity of the free public wifi. Outlook kindly tried to change to being about the popularity of the free public wife:eek:
