I want to reassess my life after this. I have too much stress going on which I don't like, want or need. I work in a job wherr I'm always sorting out stuff that's gone wrong. It's challenging but sometimes basically impossible.
I know that feeling well.
Both the job description and the occasional urge to do something completely different.
I often think in my next job I want to live somewhere warm again and not wear a suit for a few years. Shorts and T shirt would be great, do something easy and relaxed.
Problem is... I like having money rather a lot. And when it comes down to it, I quite enjoy the stress of a really difficult job too, and the satisfaction that comes from knowing there's only a tiny handful of people out there that can do what I do at the level I do it at.
I probably will have a mid life crisis at some point and pack it all in to do something fun. I'll probably also get bored to tears within 6 weeks and end up right back in the thick of it again.....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

One of the reasons I "dropped out" was I'd been putting in the effort and the hours .... and getting the stress... for years without financial reward or advancement.
It felt like I was being held back as somebody had to do the work and do it well.... people get promoted "out of harm's way" and I was simply too good/reliable.
So I saw no point in continuing to do that....0 -

.
I think a lot of people feel that way at some point, and in our industry anyway, just end up jumping to a different company for a promotion or pay rise to get past the blockage.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Ha, yeah I just need a job full stop. Had a phone call from a recruiter this morning who'd seen my CV and had a position I might be interested in (I am!) so hopefully something will come of that.
It's beggar all money, but it would be good until I can find something else. The other downside is it would be here in my hometown and I really want to move.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Having been unemployed I would strongly recommend that you take any job you can get for now and then concentrate on getting a job you want after that.

Anywhere without an airbag is a suitable location for a stage 1 car seat, provided it is anchored properly.
In terms of the best location within the car, its a balance between collision safety and other issues, like you being able to see him.
From a pure collision point of view, the centre rear is safer, but a lot of cars don't have suitable anchor points for that position.
There are also other issues, like if he were silent and you were driving and felt the urge to check on him, having you him in the passenger seat is safer than you turning around and being distracted.
Hope it goes well.
We've only undertaken one return journey yet with Danny - to and from my parents' house in Kent - and I was in the back with Isaac, able to see Danny in the front seat next to OH. I don't think his seat can be safely put in the centre at the back, a lack of anchor points, as you say (but I'm not sure).
His Brit went well, although he's a bit unhappy now. He wants lots of cuddles, which he's getting.Really, you want one parent in the front and one in the back. Likewise, the children. That way, if the back seat passengers survive but those in the front die, the children won't end up as orphans.
Both parents shouldn't go on the same flight, unless all kids are with them, for the same reason. But how many couples do that level of risk control?
My parents did follow that rule about flights when we were children, when they went somewhere alone and we didn't go. That only happened 3 times, I think, but they went on different planes on those occasions.Been in court today. Got a judge to sign off on the deal that we made last month to settle our family's claim as LNE's dependants against the various parties collectively responsible for the accident.
A lot of hanging about, and then a hearing at which my barrister explained what the judge ought to do and she agreed with him. I quite enjoyed listening to him explaining that the maintenance money going forwards didn't need to be tied up and could just be handed over to me because I wasn't the sort of mother to abandon the children and abscond with the cash.
Glad to hear an end has been tied up. I've rarely been to any court hearing whcih didn't involve a lot of hanging about, though! They're a different species.
Crab apples are traditionally used because of their high pectin content in jelly's and jams, are used in crab apple ciders, but if you were to bite into one you'd find it's about the most sour fruit you can imagine.
Generally, Crab apples are tiny compared to normal apples. They're also gorgeous in the spring, and highly decorative during autumn.
Sloes are even more sour, IME - they make your mouth practically turn inside out and run away to sea....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Yeah I've got enough on to keep me going until September but after then I'll go mad I think with nothing to do!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Buying the house is wiping me out and I can't go into home ownership without more of a plan than I'm currently working to .... so I figure I'll give that job stuff another whirl....
Well good luck with it. I think working is a good option too. Money, and just having the routine and human connection with other people for me.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Gen, I'm so taken with Zag's new and improved dodgy hug, I'm nicking it:
only one more to go, this time tomorrow, it'll be done and dusted.Today was my first day back at work after two weeks off. OH has also gone back to work..this week he is in Quebec.
Unusually for me, I am not looking forward to work this week. Was it really only yesterday that I was feeling all was well with the world? I just want the days to go.
Your OH has been whizzing round the world of late. Does he get a bit of a break after this trip?
I hope you feel better tomorrow, and all feels well with the world again.

Is there somewhere in particular you want to move to, or just you fancy a change of scene?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
