I see what you mean. I have to admit I've never thought about it in that kind of detail. Astrophysics is not my forte really. I will ask the department's astronomy expert and get back to you.
I wonder if it has something to do with the distinction between stuff moving through pre-existing space, and stuff getting further apart without moving because the space in between is expanding???
The department all agree that the point about space expanding rather than stuff moving is the crucial bit. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

If you've lived in London they're amazingly cheap and its all branded goods. B&M are meant to be similar but I've no experience of them.

Maybe it's the secret of perpetual motion... maybe the Big Bang was created by a previous black hole that swallowed up the previous universe and then reached a tipping point that made it turn inside out and explode again

I must have woken 5 times last night and that's pretty much a nightly occurrence. It probably doesn't help that I do a very stressful, highly visible job. Most of what I do ends up with board members one way or another.
The permitted valium substitute is big deep breaths. Not really the same thing.

Did you see/ hear the news reports today about some clinical trials on treatments for melanoma? Early days, but they sound very promising.

I've never heard of Home Bargains. Where's one of those round here? Similarly no nearby Lidl (until the Battle of Berkhamsted 2014 is won anyway).
