    I'm a knight!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'd be a hunter. Should have been King obviously so the test is flawed.

No suggested day to go back to work or not for that matter. They asked me when I wanted to be signed off until! I've a meeting with someone who I really want to see who's going off to Paris and then NY for 6 months on Monday.

I'm a tailor. My grandmother will be reading that and laughing. She taught me to sew by hand and use a sewing machine, though i never met her standards.

I must remember not to cross myself... (goes off muttering random incantations, or possibly the old school song - does In Fide Vade sound like something a witch doctor would sing/mutter?)

    I have pre-holiday nerves. :(

Accompanying OH on a work trip. Really don't know what I am going to do to keep myself amused while he is working. No car so taking taxis alone if I want to venture into the city.

Don't like long flights on planes - effectively alone as the only avios seat we could find was in first class, so it was that or pay for a seat. He is laughing at me (as no doubt you lot will) that travelling in first is going to be so hard. Irrationally nervous of getting on a Boeing 777.

Anyway the plan is 2 days in Chicago then to his work for 2 days somewhere in the mountains nearby (but also near a shopping mall) then fly to Denver where for another 2 days of keeping myself amused and then a couple more days where he is free.

(Note to burglars, house is occupied in our absence. In fact going to be busier than when we are home - decorator by day and one of the kids here for a few nights.)

It sounds like fun, silvercar. Two days isn't long enough to get bored, even alone.

I love the Trip Advisor app, it's invaluable anywhere, especially abroad. Pick somewhere for lunch and dinner, visit the shops one day and sight seeing the other. It will work out what is nearest to your hotel while you're there so you don't end up going far across town if there's somewhere nearer.

Just drink champagne on the flight and ask your friends if they have any Diazepam (Have you seen Bridesmaids!). Statistically, I think the chance of anything happening is even lower than it was a few weeks ago. :o

Oh and why do these pieces all say, '.....before you die'? Why not just say 33 lovely places to visit? It's a bit mawkish I reckon.

    Oh health update.

There are no signs of infection in the cut. My brain feels like I've just sat through a 15 hour lecture on gravity waves though and I keep walking into things.

I can perform physical exercise for about 5 minutes but then need to sit down. No way I can drive. I have a memory that lasts about as long as a particularly stupid goldfish with amnesia.

I can still cook just fine although I have to take extra care when chopping things up. I jointed a chicken (quite a technical task to do properly) just fine yesterday.

I am extremely short tempered though.

I'm trying to be sensible. For example, I'm taking Panadeine Forte: 1000mg of paracetamol and 60mg of codeine 4 times a day. I'm writing down the time that I'm taking it so I don't accidentally overdose. I'm also doing the Japanese bath thing where you have a thorough shower and then bathe in clean water afterwards. I might go for a massage this afternoon: the health insurance pays for $250 of massages and other alternative therapies each year. Normally I save them for when I'm doing proper training on the bike but that's something that looks a while off so I might as well use them for this.

    This is horrible.

Surely that should be, "They are paid for each and every word published on this website as well as via syndication, albeit syndicated rates can be significantly lower".
