    I'm a witch doctor..
When you were young (back in the year 1457) you enjoyed rebel acts and some mysteries until you've found the dark and bewitching art of witchcraft. Now, you use your special set of skills to help and heal other people around you. Thank you, Doc

Sounds good, until you get to the "being burned for witchcraft" bits. So be careful!

I'm a tailor. My grandmother will be reading that and laughing. She taught me to sew by hand and use a sewing machine, though i never met her standards.

My grandmother was a dressmaker too, and she made us the most amazing party dresses when we were little, the sort little girls dream of, lace and frills and all.

I must remember not to cross myself... (goes off muttering random incantations, or possibly the old school song - does In Fide Vade sound like something a witch doctor would sing/mutter?)

I quoted our joint old school motto only yesterday, it must be catching!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Just saying, its a pretty afternoon here. I'm saying because I'm guessing doozer wil bring bad weather again tomorrow :rotfl:

I was hoping to get grass cut today but cannot find the key to the lawn mower. Really annoying.

It was hailing in Feltham this morning. In central London now, it's just cold and overcast.

My darling Mama had her latest PET scan this morning, and she's all clear of nasty lymphomas. Good omens for Gen, I hope.

Its hard to take pictures of a sunny day really.

Here is some blossom against a grotty wall to symbolise pretty afternoon.

    DH would love it.

Did you have a story about one? Are you still looking for a replacement?

If you're any good at witchcraft you won't get caught...

    "In Fide Vade
    Sing we our song today
    In Fide vade
    Victorious in work and play"
    plus much more
However hard you try to forget it, you can't!
I date my hatred of the colour pink from the fact that it was my house colour at school.

It's dark and wet out there, but I managed to fit in my walk to the postbox and back the (slightly more) scenic route in between showers and thunder. Don't think I'll tempt fate again.

No, ours was a vodka rifle or gun. Cannot remember. I broke it dusting. :o. But also secret :D.

Wouldn't break stuff on purpose but when it happened I was half mortified and beefing to replace and half :j:j:j

Its funny i think I have a copy of my school song some where ( I have a copy of school hymnal) but I cannot for life of me remember it. It wasn't that good tbh.

Its funny, because I don't go to church now I still think of some hymns that we didn't sing in other places, only in chapel school in uk, in a sniggers frame of mind. As an eight year old in a school where there weren't enough hymnals to go round I was confused as to why our god rained, our god rained , our god rai-a I-a I-a I-ained. I still think it was a stupid song , even though i forgive my self the silly error. How lovely on the mountain are the feet of him is about the silliest line I think.

    Ok.

Don't panic. This might be perfectly deal able with. :D. (I have to conceal stuff like this all the time when I have gained or swollen)

Does the zip end at the top of the dress at the back or under the arm?

Does it other wise look good and do you feel good in it?

What colour is it. I bet we can resolve this. In dieting have you she'd all extra water or might some idradrena......um, what's the product called here.....water retention stuff.....buy some space?

Are you carrying a wrap or anything tomorrow night?

Sigh. Thank you. The zip is at the back. The problem is that the bottom part is stretchy but the top part is boned. When it gets to the top it's taut and it squashes what boobage I have flat, making me look like a sausage now. If I could have got the zip up, I could have coped with slightly sausage-like, but now I am a sausage that may not stay skinned! To be fair to myself, I've also realised that it's a size 10 and didn't exactly have much wiggle room when I bought it.

Water retention stuff like Adios? I've never used it but I'm about to buy some!

I have DDs parent's evening at 5pm. From there, I can go straight to Birmingham, hopefully by 6 if they run on time, which gives me about 2 hours to hit the obvious places. I need to make myself respectable before then. I have bad hair, no makeup, a just about passable black dress on and woolly purple Uggs. I look possessed.

I could have hired one if I weren't so confident on the dress situation. What an idiot :(

    That's great news!

And beautiful blossom, lir. We had some sort of not snow but not sleet earlier.

We also had the delightful "Forty Years On"
Forty years on, when afar and asunder
Parted are those who are singing today
When we look back, and forgetfully wonder
What we were like in our work and our play.

It goes on, as well, and I may have mis-remembered it.
We all thought, at the time, that 40 years on would be impossibly far away.
However, it's nearly 40 years on from when I started there, and I know I may not remember everything, but I don't think I "forgetfully wonder" much. I'm sure there was more stuff in there about being really old, gaga and generally past it by 40 years after we left.
Wonder if they still sing it? Probably not PC enough.
