They did when I was there - I've never thought of the place as being terribly bothered about PC, really! The uniform's identical to the end of the 1980s, and probably since 1896, too.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Sigh. Thank you. The zip is at the back. The problem is that the bottom part is stretchy but the top part is boned. When it gets to the top it's taut and it squashes what boobage I have flat, making me look like a sausage now. If I could have got the zip up, I could have coped with slightly sausage-like, but now I am a sausage that may not stay skinned! To be fair to myself, I've also realised that it's a size 10 and didn't exactly have much wiggle room when I bought it.

Water retention stuff like Adios? I've never used it but I'm about to buy some!

I have DDs parent's evening at 5pm. From there, I can go straight to Birmingham, hopefully by 6 if they run on time, which gives me about 2 hours to hit the obvious places. I need to make myself respectable before then. I have bad hair, no makeup, a just about passable black dress on and woolly purple Uggs. I look possessed.

I could have hired one if I weren't so confident on the dress situation. What an idiot :(

Aquaban is a good one I think.

If doozer reminds me I'll send a better one home with him.....can you drink a lot of water and pee like a horse? This requires that.....but it works.

Ok, do you have a wrap or some thing to wear with it? The simple answer if you cannot get another dress is to pin zip up and to pin your wrap in an artfully chic way so the half inch is never revealed and you just look like one of those amazing women who manages to keep such decoration where its meant to be all evening. The only time I ever achieve this is when I am bloated. Silk scarves are excellent for this.

Bet the next meet up you'll all be checking if I am wearing a scarf or not.

If we had a week I'd suggest doing a full fast (no food, just water) on two days. That takes about half an inch off me each time (sometimes a whole inch)... but short of a sauna and full body wrap I don't think you can do much to get into the dress... and I don't really approve of that method since dehydration isn't good for you.

Think I'd bite the bullet and buy/hire another dress.

Unfortunately, weight loss never comes from the specific area you want it to come from but the half stone is good anyway.

When I used to hang around with jockeys and I was thin in used to amaze me how things they did worked so well for them. I remember getting in bed one afternoon a jockey both of us while he drank coffee and I ate or drank nothing because he could afford the black coffee and I could afford NOTHING, and mine was just for a crumby dress. He was a nice chap. I wish I could remember his name I'd look him up.:)

I knew then I was a good doer but I still don't know if the quick wasting things generally work better for men. (A rapping in cling film etc).

Wish I'd given up on the Argos idea. I decided to order online... they sent it by the yahoos at Yodel. After waiting all day they apparently carded me because I wasn't in. It wasn't a signed-for delivery; I'd left instructions to leave it in the porche; I was in all day.

    Lying ******.

Did one of my complaint emails cc'd to a TV show. That always gets attention:D

Yeah... it's possible for a jockey or a bodybuilder to lose a huge amount of weight in a week. BUT, jockey's are basically somewhat insane and the methods they use aren't very healthy.

Show pony people sometimes wrap their ponies necks in cling film. It used to make me laugh wryly. When friends did this I used to suggest instead of having over weight ponies they had to sweat a neck off to try and make look muscles not fat I would just suggest they had fit ones instead. Its harder to create a fit horse with correct musculature than a fat one you see. But kind of the point of doling it I always thought.

Hm... that sounds like an interesting daily mail headline when the RSPCA find out about it:D

Banned for life from keeping animals because you cling-filmed your ponies neck... d'oh!

While I don't think its particularly 'kind' or sporting or in any way anything that would appeal to me I think I'd struggle on the scale of cruelty to see it as that, more than say stabling, might be considered 'cruel'. And I would have and would again stable my horses. I don't choose to unless I have an actual reason to though.
