Yes, it is good news. It is weeping blood a little but that;s just manly,

Great pictures. Normally I've been to at least one of those sorts of places. Quite surprised the Scottish Highlands don't make it.

Oh and why do these pieces all say, '.....before you die'? Why not just say 33 lovely places to visit? It's a bit mawkish I reckon.

I must say the "before you die" bit's pretty redundant - you might as well say "while you've still got eyes or something".
This set of photos is pretty fascinating too.

There was a programme last night Trevor McDonald's Secret Mediterranean which made me want to travel more.

I've traveled in the highlands and found them disturbingly barren. I like to see greenery, but a lot of the forested area north of Glasgow is temperate rainforest and you'd be eaten alive by insects if you step a few feet away from the comforting concrete of the city. :p

AIUI the time to go to the Highlands is in May because that's when the midges take their holidays but the sun comes up before 11am.

Good news that there's no infection! There's too much of that in this day and age.

Doozergirl, saw what you did- that was a fine thing you said.
Lemonjelly glad you've got your offer now.

I should be more serious. According to this quiz my medieval porofession would have been Court Jester.;)

Actually these pictures should cheer anybody up!

I'm the Tailor. I could cope with that.

The pics are beautiful. I ended up looking through others on the site, interesting find!

Not seen gravity, I'm not sure I should. I have trouble with just a bit of bad camera work on TV.

Gen, cut yourself some slack! You've just had a GA. It took me weeks not feel breathless walking upstairs or start to be able to concentrate. I had plans to read a lot, but couldn't hold a thought long enough; even this thread was exhausting.

I'm going back to work tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

What are you doing up at this time of night?

    Oh health update.

I am extremely short tempered though.

I'm trying to be sensible. For example, I'm taking Panadeine Forte: 1000mg of paracetamol and 60mg of codeine 4 times a day. I'm writing down the time that I'm taking it so I don't accidentally overdose.

    This is horrible.

To give some perspective I have just taken 2 neurofen +1000 mg paracetemol for period pains, so you are doing pretty well.

You have just had an invasive procedure, it is going to hurt and take days for it to subside and despite your considerable intellect, mental agility and normal high levels of fitness your brain will be like porridge and you will be exhausted.

Then you recover and hopefully learn to expect recovery from episode of treatment/procedures to take time and prepare for the 'horrible bits'. Speaking from experience here - see recovery time and rehab as an investment in your future health - set aside current work/pressure to be 'yourself'. Chill out and don't sweat the small stuff. It is really important you make the best recovery that you can, so you are well placed for whatever comes next in your healthcare needs.

My medieval job is Portrait painter. I usually have the artistic eye and skill of a sloth however I am sure this insightful quiz is spot on with:
You love creating art (especially when getting paid accordingly). You associate yourself with the higher class, but you don't overlook the lower, working people. You have a beautiful mind and with a stroke of a brush you make others look beautiful in your paintings. Basically, you're the Medieval substitute for a selfie!

We had a power cut from yesterday pm until about 3.30 am - so I am up getting a hot drink, painkillers and a hot water bottle. Dinner last night was a takeaway and mint tea made with warm water from the tap. heating was the fire in the sitting room. made me think of LiR and how she has endured a lack of creature comforts for so long. I was bloody miserable - lying awake hoping the electricity would spring into life.

What are you doing up at this time of night?

Did they suggest when you should go back?

    I'm a witch doctor..
When you were young (back in the year 1457) you enjoyed rebel acts and some mysteries until you've found the dark and bewitching art of witchcraft. Now, you use your special set of skills to help and heal other people around you. Thank you, Doc
