I thought it was a myth then I googled and they have done a scientific study. The conclusion is that blue cheese gives you wacky dreams and cheese in general makes your dreams intense!

    I like the tables style.
If I had something like that, it'd take me years to decide what would go with it in the room! Colour scheme will be dominated by it (unless you're going to change it).

I like the style too - in fact that's my favourite thing about it (good thing really!).

I've checked my original photo and I think the paint damage occurred on one of it's journeys after leaving the shop. In many ways, I'm pleased as it means I'll now feel happy re-painting it. (I'm just about getting used to that in the garden - I don't have to keep what is growing there, I'm not just there to look after it, I can change it too).

I really like the colour, but I think that's the colour I want in my bedroom (and I don't think I need a dining table in there...). My original plan for a dining room (even before I'd bought a house) was green.

It is more than likely to take me years to work out what else will go in that room - the only bit I'm sure about is that the alcove in the corner (where my parents' ancient Christmas tree is currently living) is going to have some shelves built in and house my CD collection. Other than that, I'm toying with the idea of a window seat (there is a bay window) and replacing the mantelpiece (the tiling behind it is damaged and I don't think either are original anyway). The green carpet (which is throughout the house) will eventually go, but it's neither offensive enough nor in bad enough condition for that to be particularly high up the list.

I ate my breakfast at my new dining table this morning :D

I love fir even more now I've read about his cheese experiments. I eat cheese whenever I want to as sadly it has absolutely no effect whatsoever on my dreams. I'd love to be the cheese equivalent of a test pilot. Epic.

The cheese experiments impressed me too :)

I don't think cheese affects my dreams, but I quite want to start experimenting now! I have some halloumi in my fridge at the moment...

I don't tend to remember my dreams, unless I doze off again after waking up. Then I have very lucid but strange dreams.

Damn... It's a bank holiday and I've just broken my tooth. The side has clean broken off. Trying to work out best course of action until my dentist opens. I thought that cornflake was more crunchy than the others.

Oh no! Why does that sort of thing always happen during a Bank Hol weekend?

Ooh - just reminded me... I wonder what is going to break here this weekend? (Easter was the garage door cable, May Day was the cooker)

I wouldn't describe that as a scientific study. With no control group, there's no way of knowing whether the cheese had anything to do with any of it.

If you have another Samsung calendar app then it probably wont have S Planner.

Android got a lot better from 4 (jellybean) onwards.

4.4 (Kitkat) is the latest version and because it is "lighter" it can run on mostly all devices. There won't be an official update for your mobile, but it is possible to install a version of it.

    Link<

This would bring new life to your mobile, but there is a slight chance problems could be encountered and i'd advise to let someone (local) who is experienced in changing "roms" do it for you, or you could take the chance if you were thinking of upgrading your mobile anyway.

Android has come a long way since 2.3.6

Thank you. I am hoping that I can get some help from either the local EE shop (since my contract's with them) or the Samsung shop at Cribbs (since I go to Bristol fairly frequently and can easily drop in).

Since I'm less than half way through a 24 month contract with this phone, I'd like to avoid having to replace it if I can. However, I really do want to have a reliable calendar set up, and will be getting more than enough money next month to get a new phone if I really have to.

I also need to replace my vacuum cleaner and DVD player, both of which have been on their last legs for quite some time and have now finally completely died. Any suggestions from the NP?

It took me a while to adjust to being able to change things, too. Nice feeling, isn't it? :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Yes, it is! Guess it's to be expected after living in other peoples' houses for 31 years :) And I don't even have to consider a single other person's opinion either!

Vacuum cleaner-wise, I was given a Dyson when I moved in. I get on pretty well with it - and for the first few years they'll fix it for free (which I've made use of - so bits do break but the customer service was good).

No idea about DVD players, the 2 tvs I currently have here have integrated players.

I just buy/eat cheddar, preferably mature cheddar bought for under £5/Kg. Current cheddar was £4.99 for a 1Kg block from Lidl.

I just go along the shelves looking for "mature cheddar" and when I find it I go through the pricetags looking for £5/Kg or less.... and that's the one I buy. No idea which I've got ever - just checked the current one and it's Valley Squire.
