I buy about six months bags at a time, The bags I buy are not Miele but a generic one that fit Miele that I buy in my local hardware shop. I just have to tell them which Miele models I have ( I have the new Miele and the old one still) . These generic bags are available for lots of brands of mainstream vacuums.

    I do exactly this.

I've had 3 Miele hoovers. One was left behind in the UK, one blew up when it was used without a bag . The third one is still going strong.

I'm trying to do more things that I want to do rather than have to do. It's a decision I've made as a result of the cancer. Thus I spent about 90 minutes making a train set with my son today. It was great.

I buy about six months bags at a time,

I've always had tiny places, in the clean countryside.... so pretty much a dirt/dust free house.... just me, pet free, out at work all day .... bags take months to fill up. A packet of bags is about 3. It can be 2 years before I'm looking for another packet .... so was always starting from a position of "need to get bags this week" and no idea where from. Usually try markets, but knowing which one was harder in the past (easier now you can Google everything) as I'd not be able to buy "branded" ones and my vacuum was a peculiar one.

    Sounds great fun Gen.

What other things have you got coming up that you are looking forward to do, rather than having to do?

No tooth... I thought it was a crunchy cornflake and swallowed it:o.

    TMI alert...

I'm definitely not going to wait for it to pass through, wash it in boiling water and then superglue it:rotfl:.

It doesn't hurt at the moment, but I'm worried about cleaning it in case my just recharged and very powerful toothbrush takes the rest of the middle out and leaves me with exposed nerve. I may do that bit with the brush switched off.

If you're worried it might ache, pop to the nearest chemist and get oil of cloves or other toothache solution to dab on it. Also codeine painkillers as a standby. I've had teeth break before and TBH a tooth that breaks usually hasn't much nerve left and can take absolutely ages before it hurts. My teeth are about as sturdy as meringue.

I've heard of dental repair kits a pharmacist can sell you but not sure I'd trust my amateurish mitts to look after my fragile teeth.

Claire Sweeney on Pick channel (freeview) doing a 60 minute makeover for a student who bought a house and lived there with other students ... and they're now giving it a makeover.

Might be interesting watching for people who have recently bought ex student digs houses :)

She's had it 5 years... the bloke in it was her lodger/a student, but now they're a couple.

Edit: Eww... black leather tiles (2' square) being adhered to the chimney breast as a feature wall.

Edit 2: Special retro/vinyl-style wallpaper from EW Moore

Edit 3: Er ... Roman blinds - they were awful and 'trendy' in the mid 80s. Dust traps!

Pictures of twigs on a canvas on the wall seem to be the new "twigs in vases".

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'd not let this "60 minute makeover" bunch of bodgers near my house.

One chair - looks plastic... called a Barcelona chair and costs over £1000k.

Wallpaper looks odd... something not right in the top right hand corner... can't quite see it as it's off the screen/they're not showing it.... but pattern doesn't match... looks like a random chunk was cut and stuck down... which can't be right.

Edit: Ah, I think there's some extra bit of wall structure they were working round..... so a sticky out bit of wall they papered round...

If you're watching - did you hear that nonsense the designer said ... about it adding a different dimension to a flat wall.... hated that "picture". Yes, a poorly painted canvas of twigs :)

The Boy is going to play me a couple of tunes on his cello tomorrow morning while I get ready for work. He loves to wake up early because Mum (aka Mrs Generali) likes to sleep in so he gets some time to himself when he can watch TV/read/play Minecraft/play his cello.

The Girl wants to make bread again next weekend.

I think they hung the picture of the sunset upside down, too. Have to check if they show the sunset pic when they show the finished result.
